C1000/3x00 General discussions / How I Installed Openoffice/debian On My C1000

same problem as rebski, I tried to install both xqt-gtk-jumbopack_0.4.3-0.6_arm.ipk and xqt-gtk-jumbopack_0.4.3-0.7_arm.ipk. both gave me “The extract of some files are failed. The application may not execute normally. When you cannot operate the application please remove it”. Anyone can help? BTW, Meanie said xqt-gtk-jumbopack_0.4.3-0.7_arm.ipk can be installed into SD card, but It can't, anyone knows why? please help. Thanks in advance.

PS. I am using C1K Cacko Rom

answer to my question, i tried to uninstall most of applications from internal flash untill 37MB or more free space left, then i can install the xqt-gtk-jumbopack_0.4.3-0.7_arm.ipk

pdf files in my c1k are associated with Opera, ie, pdf file is shown with Opera's logo, How can I associate it with pdf viewer? I am currently using C1K cacko beta rom, thank those people who are working with this rom.

Hi All,

when playing video clips, the Kino player for my C1000 is in portrait mode, left bottom corner. what can i do to play the video clips in landscape mode and fullscreen. thanks in advance.

the time and date shown in the corneris incorrect, say, 11-05-2005 9:00, then i send the time to 1-6-2005, 9:35. However, the time and date restore to 11-05-2005 9:00 after resume from suspend.

The Power LED lid when I inserted the card but "starting wlan0 failed", can anyone help?

the card is prolink w201 and works well under Sharp Original ROM.

Hi all,

When I insert the EagleTec ET-CWB1000 CF WiFi into my C1000, C1000 has no reponse at all and the LEDs did not blink.

Can anybody teach me how to configure this card. any comments will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Ok, update.

I COULD install the bvdd module manually. So now mplayer is actually running.
Still very small and in portrait mode, but I kind of remember reading about some command-line options which might fix that.

EDIT:
1) I can't get mplayer to play fullscreen, no matter what I do. Well, doesn't matter
2) I would still need some noob-help, a.k.a. known as: Why can't I install kino2?
    I am using the Trisoft english conversion (thanks, btw, for making it publicly available)
    and haven't upgraded the ipkg-package itself (I read somewhere that there are newer
    versions available?) or anything. So I suppose it should word (using the kino2-bvdd 
    package, shouldn't it?

Thanks for the advice. I'm the owner of a 5500 so I've had my fair share of messing around with different ROM's .

I see there are a few guys selling the C1000 with an english version of the Sharp ROM, are there instructions how to do this? I wouldn't want to get the C1000 and sit around until there's a ROM available for it.

i'm currently developing an embedded linux for a Wireless ISP using a modified Gentoo distribution. maybe I should start playing around with the idea of starting a ROM...
