A question for everyone that has r121 working on an sl-c3200.  Does you Z come up with the microdrive mounted as the cf?  I've got beta2 running on my sl-c3000 and it runs great, no problems that I can't work around, but it mounts the microdrive the way you would expect as /.   Shouldn't this be the case in r121?  I've tried building it the 'Manual' way as stated earlier in the thread, and from an SD card.  The SD card install works great and seems to install smoothly, whereas the manual method using the CF card displays a ton of errors.

In regard to the microdrive mounting as /mnt/cf, is this expected?  Has anyone else seen this?

Thanks,
Jason

Zaurus - pdaXrom / Pdaxrom 1.1.0beta 4 And New Bootloader

Problem solved:
After I had gunzip'ped pdaXrom-1.1.0beta4-Kathrin-u-boot-akita-current.zip I found emergenc.img differed from the file Winzip had extracted.
BTW the green and orange leds both turned on when flashing via the "C" and "D" keys. The leds were lit not for 20s but only for about 10s.
The Z did not accept a  64 MB and 128 MB CF card, only a 1GB SD card.

Resetting: Taking the battery out and unplugging the power supply is one way. One can just push the reset button beside the battery compartment. It was meant for that.
I really appreciate to have a 2.6.16 kernel on this tiny machine. Still the emergency system only. But let's call it a day.
Many thanks to EVERYONE who contributes. I did spend a couple of bucks yesterday donating.

Frank

I've been working on getting the beta4 to work on my c3k for the past couple days now, and I still can't get the emergency system to boot (Bootup emergency system from http://mail.pdaxrom.org/node/78)  I'm sure that I've got the correct u-boot installing, and the orange and green lights come on for about ~14 seconds, so that seems ok, but then when I put the pdaXrom files on my CF card, put that in my Z,  and do the 'ON" + POWER, I get nothing... nada.

I've seen most people having problems like this with their c1k, but few to none with a c3k.  Am I missing something?  is it my Z?  Any ideas?

Thanks!
jason

I'm also having this problem.  SL-C3000/Cacko 1.23beta X/Qt installed and working fine.  Gimp loads fine and appears to work, but only supports one filetype....it's own.

how can i restore the default partition to install a the cacko??

Itry in the installer menu "restore default factory partition" but when it boot for the first time the cacko, it said me that it can mount hdd3
[div align=\"right\"][a href=\"index.php?act=findpost&pid=113431\"][{POST_SNAPBACK}][/a][/div]

ok resolved (thx THC  )

use the hd utils in the flash menu and use restore defaults partition factory

next open the console and type

#mke2fs /dev/hda2
#mkfs.vfat /dev/hda3

and after that when you install cacko, all will be good
[div align=\"right\"][a href=\"index.php?act=findpost&pid=113634\"][{POST_SNAPBACK}][/a][/div]

I was trying this very thing with a compact flash card, and noticed that the commands should be

#mke2fs -j /dev/hdc2        <- Note the '-j' option
#mkfs.vfat /dev/hdc3

As the compact flash is mounted as /dev/hda and the microdrive is /dev/hdc

I guess this might be different if you use SD?

P.S. Thanks for posting this trick, it was (almost ) exactly what I was looking for

Zaurus - pdaXrom / SL-C3000 Support?

I'm going to try this and I'll post the results I get.  I'm using a 64MB PNY CF card.  Thanks for all the hard work guys!
-----------------------------Edit-----------------------------------

Well, I guess I should have seen that coming.... 64MB CF card isn't quite big enough.  I'll have to get a bigger one and try it again.
