Hi Meanie,

Thanks for helping us with this jumbo package as well as the informative site.  I am rather new to Linux, and have been having some problems with the installation of X/QT on my C3K.  Any chance of getting a hold of the Jumbo Package to see if that might work?  Thanks in advance for your help.

X/Qt / Problems With Installing X/qt On C3k

Hi,

I am trying to install X/QT as per meanie's site.  I have installed the files as per the sequence, but can't do the following steps:

# cd /opt/QtPalmtop/bin
# su
# ln -s Xqt X
# ln -s rxvt xterm

My konsole claims that the directories don't exist?  Am I doing something wrong.  Sorry, if this is a really stupid question, but am not too fluent on Linux.

General Discussion / Interest In Zaurus Group In Linkedin?

Have been using www.linkedin.com for awhile now.  Have found it to be very useful for business networking.  There are many professional, academic and other groupings that have been created in the network.  I would like to suggest if there is enough interest to setup a Sharp Zaurus Group?

ii. Are you sure that you even need it? This ROM includes all Cacko fonts from 1.22 so the Cyrillic fonts are built into the ROM.

Yes, you're right.  Deinstallation of fonts package fixed this problem.

u were right, I didn't reflash the ROM.  Thanks.  Everythings looks swell.  I will be testing with Debian over the weekend.  So that should be some fun!

Small (and possibly stupid) Question!  I have recently installed the C3K, and must thank all who put in hard work to allow us to use it.  I can't seem to get the display correct when I swivel it to tablet mode.  I get unreadable fonts, like '''ii''''') instead of english words!  Funny thing is that all the icons display correctly.  Haven't tried it with a wallpaper yet.

Any help is most appreciated.

Just received a Piel Farma SL-C300 Case in Black/Tan.  Very good fit, great leather.

we and Streamline just sent back the first lot of cases
to PielFrama ([a href=\"https://www.oesf.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=12537&hl=]case problems[/url]).

Could you please look at your case and check if:
- you can access the CF slot while the Z is in the case ?
- the stitching on the upper part is one uninterrupted line ?

I'm just wondering if there exist two series of the cases because
the first sample we got was near to perfect, they messed up the
design for the final case.

Hi Marc,

I checked, and u r right, there is only a piece of plastic holding the case together.  (MIght need to drop an email to the guys there on this).  The CF slot is fine on mine.  It fits fine and allows a CF card to be inserted.  

U have got me worried though on if the case can last with all the opening and closing of the cover.  Hmmm!  Will check if they are doing something about mine.

C1000/3x00 Hardware / What Case Do You Have For Sl-c3000?

Just received a Piel Farma SL-C300 Case in Black/Tan.  Very good fit, great leather.  Will be field testing it outdoors, and with a full assortment of accessories over the next few days.  Will try to get my digital camera to take a few pics of it this weekend and upload for all to see.  

Definitely worth the one month wait in my opinion.  Goody!  No more unslightly pouch to carry my 3K around on.

I am new to this forum, and have just purchased an excellent C3K from Conics.  I am looking to use the device with the XT/Debian install so that I may have access to certain apps such as SSH, Openoffice and Firefox.  Am I able to install this ROM before undergoing the Debian install?  

Or is this ROM an alternative based on the apps mentioned above?  Thank you in advance for any suggestions or help that can be provided.
