Sharp ROMs / Screen Rotate

I agree with RichS:  the most useful function of Rotate is to allow use of an IR Keyboard like pockeTop

Has anyone tried beaming contacts to or from the latest tkcrom on the c760?  I could not get it to work, even when I tried to enable the beam receive setting...

Aha!!  I\'ve been having the same problem on the 5500.

Has anyone here tried tkcROM 2.0beta3? It seems to have some useful improvements but I can\'t connect with my D-Link 660W wifi card to the host PC. I am using the same settings as in tkcROM 1.0. The message I get after trying to connect is that I should check my WAP and/or TCP settings (which are OK). Is it only my card, is there a fix, or is this a known bug?

Gabor

Yes, I have tried the ROM and it seems nice.  My only problem so far has been in receiving files over infra-red:  I have been trying to beam files from my Palm V, and after I have enabled IRDA (on both machines) the Palm recognises that the Z is there and the Z recognises the Palm, but the files won\'t transfer.  The process worked OK on the previous version of tkcROM.  Don\'t know how to get round this yet.

Sharp ROMs / For those running the tckROM, what PIM apps can you use?
« on: January 07, 2004, 06:57:17 am »
Sharp PIMs will work, but Sharp changed the file format in v3.1, so it is hard to sync using things like MultiSync, and P2Z (converts palm files to Z) won\'t work.
I use the OPIE feed for Sharp ROM, which contains individual files for each PIM app, and P2Z works OK. (It took a few tries to get it to work - during the install of Perl, required for P2Z, I got dependency error messages, but it still worked!)

Software / Hexadecimal editor
« on: January 06, 2004, 08:32:04 am »
Does anyone know of a hex editor that can be used to inspect the contents of Zaurus files?  Something like khexedit or the time-honoured MS-DOS Debug?

I\'d appreciate any help.

(I know I could use a desktop or laptop to inspect files over a network like ssh, but I would like to be able to do it in standalone mode).

Many thanks

Sorry - I thought I was logged in.

Using 5500 with tkcROM - I keep coming back to this after trying various new OZ releases.  It does seem to be reasonably stable.

Software / konqueror embedded package

it can be found at: http://docs.zaurus.com/feed/

If you successfully install and get it running....please let me know

I have installed it with the tkcROM;  during the install it told me that some of the files may not be installed correctly and it mightn\'t work, but so far I haven\'t found out what\'s wrong, if anything.  If I point it at a normal text file, it doesn\'t seem to recognise linefeeds, but that is probably usual behaviour for a browser rather than a text viewer.

I await anyone else\'s experience with interest!
