5x00 Hardware / Wireless Issues
« on: February 26, 2006, 06:12:57 pm »
I've been having some small issues with the wireless interface in Opie for the 5600's 3.5.3 OZ build.  Every time I turn on wireless, the card insists on associating with the neighbor's AP, which is open and broadcasting the ESSID.  However, it refuses to associate with my access point at all using the GUI.  I have to open up a terminal and go through the pain of typing in the gateway, dns, and wep key every time I want to connect.  The GUI also doesn't seem to let me start or stop the interface, nor disconnect it save taking the card out.  Any suggestions?

I have a Linksys WCF-12 and it works great with OZ and the Sharp ROM out of the box.

Socket's cards are good in terms of low power use, but they only work out of the box on the Sharp ROM.  I had a tough time getting it to work right with OZ, and I couldn't ever get it working with Kismet/Wellenreiter.

Angstrom & OpenZaurus / Wireless Card Issue (linksys Wcf-12)
« on: May 28, 2005, 08:35:58 pm »
For some reason, my new Linksys WCF-12 CF card fails to work in managed/ad-hoc mode.  It works fine for Wellenreiter, but whenever I try to associate with my AP, it claims that the AP's MAC address is 44:44:44:44:44:44 (obviously not the right MAC).  The SSID that I set also appears, but blinks between the SSID and the SSID with a bunch of random characters after it.  If anyone knows how to resolve this, please respond.

Thanks.
