Sharp ROMs / Gaim

I've used the one that's at this location http://qpe-gaim.sourceforge.net/libpng.so.2.1.0.9

Overall, I've found the stability and perfomance of the "official" (and under-maintained) Gaim that is at qpe-gaim.sourceforce.net to be well below the re-worked version that is a part of OpenZaurus/Opie 3.5.3. This was a big reason for my switch to Opie.

This is a big step in the right direction, but it dies with a broken-pipe when I send a message (MSN):

msn: S: QRY 7

As much as I like what I've seen of OZ, I couldn't get my PHP card to work on it, so it's not an option for me.  Gaim worked fine when I was running Cacko, but Cacko won't run my Wifi card, so I'm stuck with the Sharp ROM.

Both the Gaim on the Cacko feed and the Gaim on the qpe-gaim.sourceforge feed, throw errors telling me they need libpng 1.0.9, and not 1.2.5 (which is the one available on those feeds).

Anyone know where I can get hold of this one?

Sharp ROMs / Evil Libs

I have this strange(?) problem. Some libs I install causes Qtopia apps to stop working. Unrelated apps. For instance, if I install libmad or libtiff, then tabconf (Tab Settings) and Apperance and a bunch of other seeminly unrelated apps stop working. If I run them from the prompt they return (after a long time of nothing):

qeclient_sendcommand(): failed to connect() (after 20 sec wait)!

Removing the lib solves things, but I need libmad at least.

Any ideas?

I'm using an old C700 which is running Sharp ROM (as Cacko won't run the prism3 card).. 1.20J I think it is. The libs are from www.zaurususergroup.com/feed/ or simmilar.

Sharp ROMs / Cacko Rom 1.22 Is Available!

Anyone managed to get Planex GW-CF11X to work with Cacko 1.22? It works in OpenZaurus (but there my PHS AirH" card doesn't work so no good + I prefer Cacko). Prism3 based apparently and needs to have some firmware uploaded - which happens on OpenZaurus (though it detects it and uploads SanDisk Connect Plus.. but that seems to work fine).

Observations:

I plug in the card and a pop-up says it's a Planex etc.

Seems to show up at eth0 rather than wlan0.

Wireless Monitor claims 100% quality, but there isn't any signal etc. the card doesn't show any link either so it's dead.

Tried all the solutions listed earlier in this thread and the ones in Cacko FAQ, but they don't work (uploading the .hex returns an error about input/output). As a side note, OpenZaurus seems to flash using a differently tool?

cardctl status always shows "[suspended]".

Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks a lot in advance.

Anyone got this to work yet? I'm having the same problem. It's stuck in "suspended".
