Zaurus - pdaXrom / C3000 Completely Dead After Uboot Flash
« on: September 26, 2006, 11:43:57 am »
the way I got mine to work again after my flashing incident was this:

1. unplug the power to your Zaurus and take out battery.

2. take out any cards (CF or SD) you may have inside your Zaurus.

3. hold the "ok" button and don't let go and proceed to put the battery back in.

4. plug the power cord back in while still holding down on the OK button and now click the battery door close while never letting go of the OK button and then press and hold your ON/OFF button for about 10-20 secs.

5. It should now power back up.

hope this helps you out.

good news everyone... I have power again and It's working again after removing the battery and removing the CF card and holding the OK button and plugging the power back in seems to have done the trick. As it turned back on I got this message on the screen (please look at screen shot) so now what should I do?

also a big thank you to all who chimed in. I truly thought that was it for my little Zaurus..

« on: September 20, 2006, 08:33:36 am »
still dead after leaving the battery out of the unit over night and trying your suggestions (thank you very much) but it still won't power up. It really seems to be dead. okay what I did was I copied over the files to my CF card to flash from. The files I first used were: Zaurus SL-Cxx00 pdaXrom-1.1.0r121-Kathrin-akita-current.zip.  I tried that and it just would not flash. then I saw this other zip file for the SL-1000: Zaurus SL-Cxx00 U-boot/Emergency pdaXrom-1.1.0r121-Kathrin-u-boot-akita-current.zip and tried flashing with thoses files. it started to flash and all of a sudden it powered down and now it shows no signs of life at all! is there anyone or place that can fix my Zaurus.

Sharp ROMs / Cacko 1.23 W/debian Installed Nand Flash Backup?
« on: February 28, 2006, 07:37:58 am »
well, thanks for trying at least. It's odd because I NAND flash back and forth between pdaxrom and cacko weekly. I use a Lexar 512 mb CF card. I know for sure it can be done, but as iamsmith says there maybe a security issue that I was unaware of. I wasn't expecting a personalized NAND backup but one left in a default state along with debian. oh well live and learn. I allways thought that having a complete NAND to dowload and restore would be easier than installing everything all over again from the beginning. I hope one day to try out debian on my Z but everytime I try it fails and it is disappointing to say the least.

over and out.

I am willing to even Paypal $20.00 US anyone who would be willing to do this for me and for others who have the same problem. I know it can be done because every now and then I switch between Cacko 1.23 NAND backup and pdaxrom RC.12 NAND backup that I have created. Thanks again.

I was wondering if someone could post a NAND flash backup of Cacko 1.23 with Debian Jumbo allready installed for the Zaurus SL-C1000 so I can try debian on it? I would love to try it out. I have had trouble getting it to start from all the links in this site. Thank you in advance.

General Discussion / My New 2 Gig Sd Card Won't Mount At All - Help!
« on: November 24, 2005, 10:21:04 am »
Hello everyone,

I just bought a new 2 Gig SD card for my Zaurus SL-C1000. It mounts on my Mac and Linux box just fine but will not mount at all on my Zaurus. I tried mounting it in CACKO environment and PDAXROM RC.12 but no go.. Does my model of Zaurus not work with 2 gig SD cards? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. TIA.

I second getting the Zaurus SL-C1000. It's a beauty. I got mine from Chase & Company at:
www.chaseandcompany.net or call 1-800-596-0557. The guys name is Jeb Kaufman. He will sort you out. Good luck with your purchase.

I still cannot get full screen with 7.1.3 on my SL-C1000 RC.12. It plays only on a small screen with sound.
