22:04 < hrw> kergoth: how goes dns things?
22:07 < kergoth> hrw: paid, waiting for them to get me back going again

So it's just a matter of easydns being slow....

Very cool. I guess I should have tried IRC.
Just tried and openzaurus.org is already working for me!

Like I said in another thread, I'll donate some money to getting this fixed but my girlfriend has plenty of other ways to spend it if someone doesn't tell me something soon.

Angstrom & OpenZaurus / Where Is Openzaurus.org ?
« on: February 20, 2006, 03:09:42 am »
I sent mail to the whois contacts for the domains a while back asking the status and recieved no reply(someone else on the forums did post a status update). Does someone with the login name/password for the easydns.com accounts have any way to accept donations? How much is needed?

Angstrom & OpenZaurus / Opera Segfaults

Yep, same problem. Had to use a older version from http://www.zaurususergroup.org/UpDownload+...t-lid-213.phtml and even then there are still some issues.

I'd rather chip in some money to get dns renewed for openembedded.org and openzaurus.org. OZ has to be lossing a lot of traffic because of this.

Angstrom & OpenZaurus / 5500 Dead?

I'm running out of suggestions here....

Try pulling the battery out and disconnecting the ac adapter for a couple of minutes then try to flash with the OSPACK.

I have just tried that and I'm unable to power Z on.
Once I power it up, battery light go off, screen remains unlit.

Flashing now takes ~ 1 minute and I remember it taking a bit longer normally. As if it is not flashing it completely.

Thanks for any help.

The battery light coming on and going off once I plug in power but no image ever on screen was what mine was doing.

Probably a dumb question but...You don't have the initrd.bin or zImage still on the CF right? Just Ospack right?

Are you using a CF card that you've used succesfully in the past to flash with? I hear that some cards don't always work(especially for flashing).

Another dumb question...you do have the ac adapter plugged in right? My ac cord came out of the power brick while I was trying to flash once. It seemed to flash(several times) but would never power up.

I've had luck following these steps:
    *Let the Zaurus cool off
*Flash with an original Sharp image
    *Make sure everything works
    *Flash with OZ again[/li]
Don't know why but I've had my 5500 refuse to display anything except both lights would come on still when I'd flash. Repeated flashing with OZ didnt' fix anything until flashing once with a Sharp image. And I know I didn't have a corrupt image.

Geez, easydns.com is kinda expensive for dns. I guess a backup dns server wouldn't do any good since the register can't be updated to point to a new dns server. I'd transfer my domains elsewhere once they get unlocked...

I noticed openembedded.org has not had working dns for a while and now openzaurus.org is not working. Maybe someone could explain the relationship between these sites to me. Do they just need a back DNS server, I could do that. Anyone know whats going on?

Angstrom & OpenZaurus / Sd Card On 3.5.4 On Collie
« on: February 02, 2006, 02:55:31 pm »
After flashing the SD card slot does not work, nor will it work after rebooting without manually loading the module at least once.

lsmod on first boot:
Code: [Select]
Module                  Size  Used by    Not tainted
sa1100_bi              22924   0 (unused)
net_fd                 16636   0 (unused)
usbdcore               22504   0 [sa1100_bi net_fd]
ipv6                  152344  -1

Relevent lines of dmesg after first boot(because this is where we should see something):
Code: [Select]
bi_device_event: call udc_all_interrupts
IrDA: Registered device irda1

Doing a lsmod sharp_mmcsd_m(still not working):
Code: [Select]
Module                  Size  Used by    Tainted: P
sharp_mmcsd_m          25792   0 (unused)
sa1100_bi              22924   0 (unused)
net_fd                 16636   0 (unused)
usbdcore               22504   0 [sa1100_bi net_fd]
ipv6                  152344  -1

The only lines that occur at the end of dmesg after doing the lsmod sharp_mmcsd_m:
Code: [Select]
mmcda: mmcda1
SD Driver Initialized.
sharp_mmcsd 0.21 27 Sep 2002

After a reboot with the reboot command the SD slot works. lsmod shows:
Code: [Select]
Module                  Size  Used by    Tainted: P
sharp_mmcsd_m          25792   2
sa1100_bi              22924   0 (unused)
net_fd                 16636   0 (unused)
usbdcore               22504   0 [sa1100_bi net_fd]
ipv6                  152344  -1

And comparing the output of dmesg to the dmesg after the first boot these are the changes:
Code: [Select]
bi_device_event: call udc_all_interrupts
Partition check:
 mmcda: mmcda1
SD Driver Initialized.

Angstrom & OpenZaurus / Sd Card On 3.5.4 On Collie

IIRC you can get from sharp-sdmmc-support from 3.5.3. Hrw?
[div align=\"right\"][a href=\"index.php?act=findpost&pid=113421\"][{POST_SNAPBACK}][/a][/div]

Looking into it a little further the sharp-sdmmc-support is still included in the image but it's not working(at first).

ipkg status sharp-sdmmc-support
Code: [Select]
Package: sharp-sdmmc-support
Version: 2.4.18-rmk7-pxa3-embedix-r21
Depends: kernel (2.4.18-rmk7-pxa3-embedix), update-rc.d, libc6 (>= 2.3.5+cvs20050627)
Status: install ok installed
Architecture: collie
ipkg files sharp-sdmmc-support
Code: [Select]
Package sharp-sdmmc-support (2.4.18-rmk7-pxa3-embedix-r21) is installed on root and has the following files:
/etc/init.d/sd
/lib/modules/2.4.18-rmk7-pxa3-embedix/kernel/drivers/block/sharp_mmcsd_m.o
/sbin/sdmgr
/etc/sdcontrol

Doing a /etc/init.d/sd status returns nothing. I tried a /etc/init.d/sd start followed by a modprobe  sharp_mmcsd_m. Doing a lsmod at that point showed the driver as loaded but unused(I didn't do a lsmod before). I rebooted with a reboot command and now the SD slot works everytime but I tried rebooting before and it didn't help. So it works now but I guess I'll reflash and see if I can duplicate the behavior.

Angstrom & OpenZaurus / Sd Card On 3.5.4 On Collie

Hi All - Ive got a couple of collies - I've just been playing installing oz3.5.4RC - and like a few people on the openzaurus wordpress site, neither of my collies can use any of my sd cards - I've browsed round here a bit, and couldn't find a mention of this phenomonon - even in pinned 3.5.4 bugs and work arounds. Does anyone one know a solution for this?
thx
[div align=\"right\"][a href=\"index.php?act=findpost&pid=107738\"][{POST_SNAPBACK}][/a][/div]
Using the older 3.5.4 RC I could use my SD card on my Collie but with the latest 3.5.4 test release I can't use it either. I don't really have time to setup a development environment or start messing around with bitbake as someone else in this thread mentioned, I just wanted to help test and file bug reports. The SD card is a standard feature on every Collie so there is no reason support for it should be removed from the images, hopefully it's just a mistake that will get corrected.
