Sharp ROMs / Watapon Rom Test
« on: September 01, 2005, 11:03:39 am »
Hi, I have been reading good things about the Watapon rom, so I decided to give it a test, It looks great!

I have one snagg tho, and im not sure if its a problem with the distro or not.

I followed the steps, doing the flash from CF, then reset again and doing a format so I know i have the system installed correctly.

When ever i try to execute either the web browser or the email client (both located under the internet tab) i run out of memory and the system wants to shut down.

I run a SL-5600 with a PXA255 chip, which also brings me to the 2nd comment, does anyone know if Watapon is compatible with the PXA255 ?

Any help would be great as I really like this flash version.

Thanks

Mike

I hope someone out there can be of some assistance, I need a NAND Backup file to fix my almost dead SL5600 PXA 255.

I found a couple backups for the PXA250 but some other thread said that it would be wrong for me to use that on anything buth the PXA250.

If anyone can help me that would be great!  I can setup an ftp site or I can grab it from your web/ftp

I have a major problem, I have been looking all over the internet for a good NAND backup for the SL5600, PXA255 version and I am still at a loss.

I thought I would post in the forum as well as my original post under 5x00 hardware.

I can supply a ftp site for you to upload too and instructions on how to make the backup.

Thanks

I'm not sure with your older rom, but my system info has a cpu section (it might be because I'm on cacko rom).

The ol' linux way is by console command line
Code: [Select]
cat /proc/cpuinfo[div align=\"right\"][a href=\"index.php?act=findpost&pid=92167\"][{POST_SNAPBACK}][/a][/div]

5x00 Hardware / Pxa250 Or Px255 How Can You Tell What You Have ?
« on: August 17, 2005, 10:18:01 am »
Hi, I have purchased a SL-5600 and was about to flash to OZ 3.5.3 but I noticed with some additional digging that there is 2 kernel's one for the 250 with the patch and one for the 255 without the patch.

So, before I start this flash process can someone let me know how I can tell what I have for a cpu ?  The unit come with the standard sharp 1.32 rom.

Thanks
