Ok so in my hast I didn;t read the rules for this part of the forum.  Hence (I hope ) why no one has responded.

If you are interested in the SL5500 then please mail or PM me.  I'm looking for realistic offers hence why I though I'd advertise on this forum.

Cheers

OK  As much as I have loved owning a Zaurus it's time to say goodbye

Due to a work based upgrade I have a Zaurus SL5500 in Very Good condition with the following : -

SL5500 (inc Box and all original software and manuals)
Wireless Keyboard
Cordless Batery Recharger (Charge up a power pack and take it with you to charge the Zaurus)
CF Modem

Like I say all of teh above is in excellent condition.

Leave any messages of interest below this post stating your location and offer price.

I am in the UK and am only willing to post to the uk.  Payment must clear before postage.  Scammers don't even bother.... we can tell honest buyers by now and you just waste everyones time!!

Cheers

Cheers for that advice CraigTyson but I have copied the files to the Zaurus via the intellisync file transfer program and then used the Zaurus file manager to move the files to the CF card.

I'm going to try to reformat my CF to Fat16 which I thought I had done but that seems the next logical step.

Can I ask where you got the tkRom files from??

I have been trying to install this for about a week.

I got the files from

http://kflog.org/~axel/GPS-CF_HOW_TO-TKROM...pha3.HowTo.html

The site has instructions for installing and the files for the Alpha3 rom.  But when I try loading these to my CF card and flashing as per the instructions the mail and power lights flash instead of staying on and the only way to stop the process is to perform a hard reset.  So I'm not sure if it's the files or me

Any help or guidance would be really welcome.

   Ok Still no joy.

Does anyone know whether it matters which zImage file you use with theKompany 2 alpha 3 rom??  I downloaded all the files from

http://kflog.org/~axel/GPS-CF_HOW_TO-TKROM...pha3.HowTo.html

The guy that wrote the article host the rom, zImage and associated files.  Having looked at the ZUG downloads section I was going to download the rom from there but I can not see an associated zImage file to download for a 5500.

Any advice would be appreciated............

Help!!

I'd like to say that I'm not a complete novice but perhaps your all disagree after reading this plea for help.

I'm trying to flash my SL-5500 with theKompany rom alpha 3.  I have downloaded the initrd.bin and zimage files and loaded them to a CF card.  I the proceeded as the TK website tells you to (hold the C+D keys and perform a Hard Rest) but instead of the Mail and power lights staying on they just keep flashing.

Am I missing some step or could it be the files??

Any help much appreciated.

Cheers
