Zaurus - pdaXrom / Suggest Low Spec Opengl Applications

I think blender may be pushing the envelope a little too far.

The scene rendering NEEDS hardware acceleration to do anything reasonable with blender and I think you would find the editor unusable in 640x480.

I know that NaN managed to get blender 2.23(?) working on the iPaq under windows pocketpc 2002. They demonstrated it at SIGGRAPH running a game at about 4-5fps. Considering that my zaurus is about twice the speed of the demo system with a far better build environment (if you're using OZ or pdaXrom anyway) I dont believe it would be difficult to port nor would it be really slow and unusable. Although it wouldn't be ideal...

If I get time, I'll have a go compiling 2.4a from source. I'll have to try compiling python 2.4 as well first though.

Zaurus - pdaXrom / Pdaxrom Rc11 For Pxa Devices
« on: September 22, 2005, 10:17:49 am »
The zaurus usb-storage not mounting on fedora 4 systems with rc11 seems to be fixed by upgrading to the latest FC4 kernel (2.6.12-1.1447). Apparently, this new kernel also fixes the usbnet driver that was broken as well but I haven't tested that.

So if you have a sl-c860 or sl-c1000 with pdaxrom, and a pc with fedora 4, download and install the latest fedora 4 kernel and you shouldn't have any problems with usb-storage or usbnet recognising your zaurus.

PdaXrom is awesome. Thanks for a great ROM

Zaurus - pdaXrom / Pdaxrom Rc11 For Pxa Devices

When I try to use USB storage with SD (SL-C1000) using pdaXRom RC11 I get lines like this from dmesg on my fedora 4 PC:

Attached scsi removable disk sda at scsi18, channel 0, id 0, lun 0
Vendor: Sharp     Model: SL-C1000          Rev: 1.00
Type:   Direct-Access                      ANSI SCSI revision: 00

This is similar to when I use the Sharp ROM to do the same. The difference is, the device sda will mount on my PC when using the Sharp ROM, but with pdaXrom I get "no medium found" when I try to mount it on my PC.

Any ideas? BTW I have upgraded usbdcontrol from the feed and still no result...

Also, in order to come back from suspend, I have to hold in the power button while exiting X then release the button when in the console. then startx again...

For Sale / Wanted / Wanted: Zaurus Slc1000 Or Slc860
« on: September 12, 2005, 02:20:35 am »
Hi I'm living in Australia and I'd like to buy a Zaurus SL-C860 or SL-C1000. A new SL-C1000 is $840AUD (about $650 US) from Japan with postage and duty paid. So I'd be looking at paying less than $800AUD. If anyone is in Australia or nearby and is prepared to part with a good Zaurus for that price then please reply to this post.

I can pay by paypal or postal order - possibly bank transfer but I have to check with my bank for international transfers.

[EDIT] - I have found a Zaurus!! Thanks to those who sent me messages from this forum. I'm now proof that the buy/sell forum works!
