General Discussion / Dcf-660w And Befw11s4 - Can They Get Along?

I am have a horrible time getting my Z5500 / Hentges with a D-Link DCF-660W CF Wifi card to connect to my Linksys BEFW11S4 ver. 2 router. I have tried endless varieties of configurations and settings on both ends and nothing works. I managed to get a brief connection this morning but the stability is horrible - it stayed connected for about 3 minutes and then that was it. For about a week prior to that and for a few hours afterward I've had ZERO success of connecting these two together. I'm starting to think it's my wifi card now. Has anyone had any success with getting these two to work correctly, or am I going nuts?

I have the exact same setup as you do - hentges ROM and a DCF-660W wireless card on a zaurus 5500. I have a different problem than you - the zaurus recognizes the card but doesn't connect to my router - ever! I am 100% certain that my settings are correct but it refuses to connect.

Sounds to me like your wifi card is bad. Either that or you could re-flash your Z. Also, run the MD5 sums against your zImage and initrd.bin files to ensure they're not corrupt.

If you find a solution, post it back here and let us know. I'm curious to know if your solution will help with my issue as well!

I have bought the CF D-Link DCF-660w. When insert the card, at first time, it know the card as D-Link DCF-660w.
But when i eject the card for read the MAC and re-insert it, the Z don't know it....it say: Anonymous Memory .

I try to reboot and soft reset but nothing......

"cardctl info 0" say nothing
"modprobe prism2_cs"
modprobe: module prism2_cs not found

I don't understand why the first time it know the card and the other no !!!!!!!!         

HELP ME!!!!!

What can i do?

Hi ppl! I just got my Zaurus 5500 2 days ago and I love it!! It currently has the Embedix OS with ROM 3.10 from Sharp. I like this but some packages I download don't seem to work 100% with it (like Gaim). I've seen the OpenZaurus and Opie and other ROMs / OS's and I'm not sure which is better / recommended. Can someone point to a comparison of the different ROM's and OS's and the pro's / con's of each? I am good at linux in general and can get down and dirty with config files - i'm not afraid to do that so advanced stuff is fine as well. Thanks in advance!
