Gemini PDA - Android / Screenshots of Gemini Home Screens
« on: August 18, 2018, 11:33:00 am »
To help anyone wanting to do something similar I've uploaded 3 screenshots with some notes.

Programs used:

1) Nova Launcher Prime - not sure I've actually used any of the prime features but I liked it so much I paid.

2) Chronos pro for transparent weather and calendar events (links to PC Agenda)

3) Elixir Widget for the system info/buttons

4) PC App Bar for quick access to 'tools' (file managers that sort of thing) - (not shown in images)

5) BlueMail for transparent email preview (not shown in images) - I actually use K-9 as I prefer it but the email preview widget looks horrible.

I have button remapper but haven't used it yet

The biggest issue is finding transparent Apps.

Nice, im using nova launcher and chronos pro widget, and am happy with it so far.
I`ve 2 home pages one for astronomy and one for general stuff.
The one thing I'd like to be able to do is change the shortcuts automatically in the dock based on the screen i am on, if anyone knows how to do this please let me know, but i`m happy with how it has turned out so far.

Gemini PDA - Android / Android shortcuts disappear after reboot
« on: July 25, 2018, 02:12:55 pm »

This has not happened to me tbh.  Which launcher are you using and are they shortcuts (app launchers) as opposed to widgets?

It is the standard launcher, shortcuts not widgets, happens if i put them in folders or direct on the desktop.

Gemini PDA - Android / Android shortcuts disappear after reboot
« on: July 25, 2018, 10:35:22 am »
Hi,
Has anyone else noticed any android shortcuts disappearing after reboot?
It doesn't happen to all icons but the ones it does happen to it is consistent in then disappearing after reboot. the programs are still installed and available in the apps area it is just the shortcuts on the desktop that disappear.

Thanks
Simon.

Gemini PDA - General Discussion / Gemini PDA Gen 2 Features Request
« on: June 29, 2018, 12:21:11 pm »
My list after 3 weeks of happy usage...

1) backlit keyboard
2) hardware volume control
3) fingerprint reader
4) Dock with USB3 ports, HDMI, card reader storage etc.
5) small screen on outside or a different design that allows the screen to be on outside.when closed
6) decent camera - like One+ 5 has
7) better wifi
8) more internal storage for dual boot
9) software switching between OS without reboot!
10) wider screen
11) more than one position for the screen - when watching movies on my daily commute it could do with being 10-15 degrees more upright as the bag on my lap is not level!
12) matt screen

But I love it as it is and hope Planet Computers can make a success of it past the crowd funded campaign.

For files I want to share I use Microsoft Onedrive, or BT Cloud then the files are available everywhere.

Gemini PDA - Hardware / Keyboard label wear
« on: June 27, 2018, 05:03:38 pm »
I've had my UK Gemini for 3 weeks and now that you mention it it does look like it is starting to wear, I had put it down to the keys getting a little grubby so I looked a little closer and to me it does look like dirt rather than the white print wearing off,

Gemini PDA - Hardware / USB-C to HDMI adapter
« on: June 14, 2018, 11:42:59 am »
I bought a cheap USB-C dongle (NOVOO USB C Hub 5 in 1 Aluminun HDMI 4K Adapter,2 USB 30 ports, 1 SD card reader, 1 micro SD card reader) thinking it would work with the Gemini PDA, everything works except the HDMI, does anyone know of any of these type of dongle that do work? I wrongly assumed that the Planet Computers dongle was just a re-badged generic device. :-(
