Gemini PDA - General Discussion / Shipping email (I got my Gemini PDA)

Order #500 here, UK Keyboard, Wifi only model.
Arrived on the 19th June.
Flashed to Linux only, using all the MMC, and added a 128GB µSD card.

Very happy so far.

Gemini PDA - Linux / FM radio in debian : is it possible ?

I've installed some firmwares ( downloaded from repository ). I found a /dev/fm , but not /dev/radio. I don't know if before this firmwares I've downloaded , the /dev/fm already existed. I've installed a radio application, but it has no permission to access dev/fm .

that  /dev/fm isn't accessible without platform key.

Please,  I'd really appreciate if someone can verify if /dev/fm exists in your gemini pda's . Thank you all.

Forgive me, for I am a Linux Noob
Do you want this info from people using Android, or Linux (or both) ?

My Wifi only Gemini is only Linux.
but, I do have what looks like a file called "fm" in "/dev/" in the File Manager.

Gemini PDA - Linux / Configuring LED's in Debian Linux (Gembian)

In Gemian the component that does the LED work is:

Its currently configured to show:
Internal LED - red for caps
Eternal far right LED -
 * Blue - bluetooth is on
 * Green - wifi is on
 * Red - cellular is on
 * White - all are on
 * Mixes - as per mix etc.

They are set at brightness 1 out of 3, which is the minimum, there is some work ongoing to get a better control of the LED's when we'll bring the brightness down and balance them so that the mixes are not so dominated by the green (which is to my eyes brightest of the three colour options).

Uncertain what LED's your referring to, suspect it might be the above. Personally I wanted to know easily with the device closed that I'd left WiFi on as I find that with it off for an 8h sleep it'll drop 2-4% battery, and with WiFi on it'll drop 35-45%.

Work in progress, patches welcome.

Thanks for the Info Adam, especially about the wifi drain.
The Wifi was on, so that would explain the green light, but the Bluetooth should have been off, so i don't know why the blue light would have been on.
I'm going to check again in the settings to make sure.

edit : OK. I hadn't rebooted or closed the connection manager when I switched of the Bluetooth, and it hard locked on me at one point and I forced it to switch off. The Bluetooth then switched back on, at boot, as that was its previous state. Glad I can have all the LED's off at night, as you say, just have to remember to cut the Wifi connection.

Hi Everyone.

got my Wifi-only Gemini last week, and was very happy to see the Linux Firmware available this week, so i flashed it.

I have noticed that a blue and a green LED seem to be always on, and they are pretty bright.
When i did an apt-get update & upgrade, i did see that some LED files were downloaded and added, but I didn't notice or write down the actual full name of the files.

Could someone please help me to turn off the LED's or at least show me how to conrol then in Gembian Linux ?

Thanks a lot, I'm hoping to use the Gemini as my main desktop, with a USB-C docking station later on.
It'll mainly be for Websurfing, Email and Youtube, and then later, try and get some old Dos/Win95/98 games working (Carmageddon, etc )
