Gemini PDA - General Discussion / Oreo on its way
« on: April 14, 2019, 10:31:27 am »
8.1 is certainly better than nothing, but honestly 9.0 is miles ahead of it in all regards. Guess we won't be ever seeing 9.0 on Gemini, though.

Waiting patiently for Android 8.1 to update the guide.

Guess this should be posted here too.

Gemini PDA - Hardware / How to remove the microsd card from its slot?

I found it almost impossible to remove the card using the ridge on its top edge.

Instead, I used the tip of a pen (actually a mechanical pencil) in the gap between the fins at the side of the card to pull it out.  That worked fine.
That worked out eventually, thank you!

Any updates on this?

New products and alternatives / Promising... ReadyFx

Waiting for official release, choosing between this and Cosmo. I definitely prefer Qualcomm over MTK, for a bloody long list of reasons; not sure whether I will be comfortable with the keyboard after stellar typing experience on Gemini, though - but on the other hand this Q-Device will allow single-handed use like a regular smartphone, which is very beneficial on the go.

Gemini PDA - Hardware / USB Hub

I've tried searching the forum and browsing but I can't find any information on how to do this.  Could you possibly provide a link?  Thanks.
Turn off the Gemini, plug in hub, plug in some (5V!) to the hub, turn on. Works with generic hubs too (that's what I have, btw - skipped the official one). I wouldn't recommend using the official Gemini charger for the hub, though - it may fry it, in theory; using something generic without any fast charge support, just to be on the safe side.

But the hyperdrive USB-C port has a 3.5mm jack - so wouldn't you be able to use that if it covers the one on the Gemini?
Probably - it seems to be a USB2.0 soundcard, thus should work with most devices including Gemini.

This or that seem a better fit for Gemini given its limitations, are more affordable and readily available. The sad part - any of the hubs sharing this design blocks the headphone jack.

Gemini PDA - Hardware / Engineer Mode?

@AP756 I'd like to know how to change IMEI on Gemini PDA. It is illegal in some countries so mods probably won't approve discussion on this topic.
