I have contacted Planet Computers directly as the phone is now sending me similar messages regarding the 3G signal.

Weird.

I briefly had a similar experience two days ago. The network LED (opposite side of the charging LED) suddenly lit up in magenta and just stayed on. Then it began flashing, went back to steady magenta, seemingly repeating. Picking it up, I noticed it had dropped from 4G to 3G, and seemed to stay there. Inches away, my other phone, with a SIM card from the same (Swedish) operator, had seemingly stable 4G reception. As I was in the midst of a meeting, I found the flashing annoying, so I went to flight mode. Later, when leaving flight mode, I was back on 4G again, and I haven't experienced it again.

How are things going on your end? Still just 3G?

Yes, my smart watch which is linked to the phone had been reporting loss of 4G signal in certain areas, like my Mums kitchen, but then re linked when I left the area for several weeks no it will not link anywhere and the android OS will only find 2G and 3G networks. I have no other phone to use as a test for my sim.

My sim provider is Virgin Mobile. I have been using $G for several years with them. Recently the phone started reporting the loss of 4G signal and recently stopped connecting to their 4G signal. Android only states that 3G is available to connect with.

I have had the same issue with the device turning off. After rebooting the battery seems to empty rapidly. Charging the device with it turned off immediately reports that the battery is a around 37%.

Gemini PDA - Hardware / Hinge cracks

I have had two issues with the Gemini, the first was easy to fix, the rubber strip on the spring support kept coming away from the support and eventually the bobbles broke off . I have spuerglued it back on. The second is now the spring support will fall off at the slightest touch. I have reported these issue to Planet Computers.

Gemini PDA - Android / Firmware Update 2018-10-09
« on: October 11, 2018, 08:19:08 am »
My upgrade completed successfully or so i thought. I missed a call which went to answer phone. This asked me to phone an 0800 number. When trying to use the phone it refused to make the call as card 2 had no provider! My sim to Virgin is in slot 1 with no card in slot 2. Why did it try to use slot 2 to make the call? It has worked using the sim in slot 1 and the update obviously changed a setting when it shouldn't have done!
