Hi !

I search a software to display informations about the current wifi hotspot (like strengh, name of the hotspot ...)
I always use ad-hoc connection but now I go live on a big city so I need a tool like this ... (the ideal way is kismet but I can't configure it :$) ...

It's a mb-wifi-applet but when I launch it under xfce the icon still with a red crossbar ...

I search the MUTT package but the only i can find on this forum didn't want to install on a RC12, maybe because it's a RC9 package ...

Who can I find Mutt that work with RC12 ?

For Rox problem have you installed the standart IMEI file librairy ? (or something like that)

1. with xfce, it's possible to have the virtual keyboard??
2. when I pivot the screen to use the zaurus in tablett mode, xfce didn't rotate, it's possible to make that he rotate??

1. yes , xvkbd for complete keybord see help for more option like xvkbd -compct for a small layout

2. Make a keyboard shortcut (settings => windows settings mode => keyboard) and for the key pivot the screen , it assign the key x86rotate. Now execute with this shortcut the command " chkhinge " ...
You can customize action when you rotate the screen in /etc/sysconfig/clamshell ... (for exemple lauche the virtual keyboard in tablet mod ...)

the comand for rotating the screen is : xrandr
Look at xrandr help or xrandr /? to have help for this fonction.

xrandr -o right : for what you want
xrandr -o normal : for normal usage


If you want to do this automaticaly the script is stored under /etc/sysconfig/clamshell

Im using rox pinboard in my 6000L, but everytime i rotate the screen, the wallpaper is not proper display anymore. Does anyone know how to rotate the screen while the wallpaper remains unchanged ?

I didn't know but I solve this "problem" by making a bash file to rotate the screen and change the pinbord folder.
So I have 2 command "desktop_mode" and "pda_mode" and also 2 different desktop, One specially with application that I use in desktop mode with a 640*480 wallpaper and one another with all application that i use in pda mode with a different 480*640 wallpaper ...

You can solve the wallpaper problem by using a square 640x640 background, and selecting "tile" mode in the backdrop window through which you're selecting the image.

Zaurus - pdaXrom / Rox-desktop And Tosmoro

Hi !

I'm using Xfe and rox desktop but when I launch Tosmoro it isn't display.
In fact he is behind the rox-desktop - when I remove rox-desktop I can see tosmoro.

Is it a way to have tosmoro display front of rox-desktop and solve this Z-order problem ?

I want some where I have icon on desktop (like pdaxrom default desktop) but without "section" and with a traybar where i can view my open application...

So i think that nobody has a solution for my previous post ...
I have seen on http://xfce-goodies.berlios.de/ that it's 2 new module that can be usefull :
xfce4-modem-lights
xfce4-quicklauncher-plugin
Nobody has re-compiled them ?

No, I don't know the answer to your previous post. If it's on the xfce-website you can use only 10, I don't think there's a workaround.

About the plugins :
If you like, I could add them. Just wait for a day or 10. If you can't wait, you can install the xfce4 and xfce4-dev packages from the contributed feed and try to compile the plugins.

xfce4-quicklauncher-plugin looks good to wait before xfce under pdaxrom support multiple toolbar ...

Zaurus - pdaXrom / Tiemu Issue

Hi !
I have installed tiemu, the only calculator that can remplace ... my ti92+ ...  

but when I load a ROM it make this error :

'unable to open this file : ti92.skn
could not set video mode: invalid with or height
initialized in gtk+ mode
fatal signal : segmentation fault (sdl parachute deployed)'

the skin file is from the tiemu official package ... anyone (I think there is not many users) use the software ?

Hi !

I try to run kismet under a 860 PdaXrom RC12 with a linksys WCF12 wifi card

I have configure the kismet.conf with : hostap,eth0,hostapsource and when i try to run kismet it make this error :

Source 0 (hostappsource) enabling monitor mode for hostap source interface eth0 channel 6
FATAL : channel get ioctl failed 16 : interface or ressource busy


Have try the command :
cardctl scheme CardResume
Before starting kismet but that didn't solve the problem ...
