well I need to workarounding..., middle of KDE install somehow libreoffice came into the picture again and giving erre, actually I purged libre ages ago... so delete purge fix-broken remove. Why this libreoffice causing too much pain? Am i missing a repo, which contains the latest libre or I just used an old image I guess about 30 days since my last reflash.
Please post your output after running this command

Code: [Select]
apt -f install
I could get rid of the piceses left over after deleting libre from the catalog as Plasma has include libre , so rm -r .../archive/libre* , then apt-get --fix-missing then just install plasma worked... However it still not solved the problem with the power management 4 hours -> 10% battery, and it was on a 2A charger

Gemini PDA - Linux / 8.1 multiboot - NVRAM e NVDATA

Hi you all,

I have a Gemini PDA 4G
My PDA is set with multiboot --> root android 7.1 ---recovery --- linux --- TWRP

Believe me, I do not know where I make error for a correct upgrade to have 8.1 android.

Just to know, if my steps are correct I write below what I did:

1. downloaded a news scatter file + base firmware (root android 8.1) + additional KALI or  DEBIAN file
2. under linux start the FLASH TOOL
3. I choose the directory with inside all new files and the new scatter file
4. Choose FIRMWARE UPGRADE - click on DOWNLOAD -- connect my PDA
5. everything work fine

BUT

I have 2 problem:
1. under LINUYX system NVRAM error under wifi connection (and the problem already reported in other topics of no saved wifi password)
2. under TWRP no possibility to mount DATA / NVDATA

There is something wrong in my steps ??

Thank you
CRI
Unfortunately you can't get 8.1 from flash/partition tool and download for rooted android, It did not work for me, check out the flashing without changing userdata here:
http://support.planetcom.co.uk/index.php/A...d_Manual_Update
You can follow this then you will keep your linux and user data. I did not found any use for TWRP with multiboot, tried to update magisk from it and nothing happened, it wrote done, and magisk kept the old version. Similar with rooted android, I flashed it and it is 7.1.1, well possible i used wrong image, will retry with another.... So I think you need to go details file and download the latest
from their site support.planetcom.co.uk/download/AndroidFirmware/Gemini_x25_x27_FOTA6_06052019.zip I am not sure why flash tool suggesting the older firmware, just noticed when wanted to upgrade rooted android....

Edit: After flashing even i did not touch boot 2,3 and linux image, it no longer bootable . I have no clue what happened, I reflash only the boot now still nothing happen boot loops, and hope I don't need to overwrite the linux, but it seems it is a must :S Android working fine after reflash all apps remain and upgraded in few minutes. Might be a small glitch with the scatter file, as i created a new one with 28,28 split same as i was using before the upgrade, so linux need to be reflashed now...

Gemini PDA - Linux / Audio problem
« on: June 17, 2019, 09:26:22 am »
Guys, can someone help me, I wanted to play one of my favourite old timer games master of magic and master of orion 1-2. It seems dosbox works fine, but inside it audio totally broken, midi plays well, but instead of normal sound SB emulation result only with some noise.

Moreover I could not get over with the pulseaudio + bluetooth headset... I have all things installed even stopped pulseaudio demon and tried, but it seems as soon as I want to use the connected headset, it just reset the demon and speaker selected with 100% volume bamm. BT device connected and trusted, only the audio not works.

Is there any alternative working better than pulseaudio with this hardware I tried nearly everything but no luck... Debian strech suggestions all executed, even tried 2 different GUI for pulse no result

EDIT: it seems somewhy bluetooth module not loaded with out of box, so each time it need to be loaded, then the device need to be repaired, once module loaded device need to be repaired, then it works for one session. I think if added to the pa config file then just the repairing would be necessary. But for scripting easier leaving it and script load then bluetoothctl pair and trust for pulseaudio part this article can be useful:
https://raspberrypi.stackexchange.com/quest...uetooth-speaker

If anyone interested:). Then i will try out if DB not showing any improvement, so it seems to be something to sound blaster emulation.

Good thanks, I have tryed with apt to get GDM working but it ended up with forever loading gemini . Will try KDE, long time did not use KDE , but if it works still better then the default LXQt UI.

Please write detailed instructions how to install KDE/Gnome kdm/gdm on gemini. I tried and gave up as there is no way to see the bootup messages/console without F1-F4, so it just resulted splash screen maybe forever . Interesting as I don't really satisfied with the lxqt gui. I also would be happy to have console TTY 1 during the boot and able to resolve problems with the X sessions

Hi,

I tried both Kali and Debian stretch on my gemini, and it seriously hard to work with it currently. Is here anyone who can share a flash able image, which consistent and components working well, well is the key. I am personally saw this GUI first time in my life (used Xdebian/Xubuntu,Gnome , KDE and might couple of more, but for one time i can't even recall)...

Issues which actually make life harder is that out-of-box new image come with conflicts/incorrect dependencys. Debian has libreoffice by default, but it will fail the upgrade. on Kali it even worse, because the conflict will rise during the upgrade and you will not be able to boot the device anymore, if you can't solve it in that session, as far i remember packages which were involved are vim, vim* and kali distribution. What I could do remove from catalog and binarias, could not resolved via dpkg and apt. Furthermore if you upgrade KDE imported apps will not work properly , like ARK which will be not able to extract or create archive.

So a custom debian which support the following options would be really good:
Consistent apps and version
More useable gui like kde/gnome
Allowing f1-f12 by default to check the console messages and dbus during the boot, and if GUI fails somewhy still possible to do anything else than reflash...
Supporting all pheriphereis, I still struggling with bluetooth audio, can connect and trust but pulseaido fail and reset pulse each time (with max volume on speaker)  when you want to select the bloototh device in Bluetoothctl I can see connected as audio-card...

These were the first pains i observed on my first week, I was trying out sailfish as well, but I don't think that will be enough for me at all ... Gemini should keep drivers updated, but it seems not happening in general . I also read some articles at maemo forum, and it seems that are couple people already put a good system together, what I would like to have a flashable image of one of the all working systems.
