Cosmo Communicator - Hardware / Front mic muted while closing cosmo
« on: February 27, 2020, 09:10:55 am »
I have sent in my Cosmo for repair as well. Mine has a problem at the other end. With the Cosmo closed, I cannot hear the other party anymore. On speaker it works, with BT headphones it works as well, but the top speaker is silent as soon as the call starts. It doesn't matter whether the case is open or closed. Factory reset did not solve the problem, so I sent it in for repair. Will let you know the outcome once it's returned.

Cosmo Communicator - Android / Google Search Bar

As far as I know, the only way of doing this is using a different launcher. I'm using Nova launcher, which has a free and a paid version. This comes with a lot of nifty extras as well. Recommended

I had also ordered the "connectivity kit", but it's not yet fulfilled on Indiegogo.
Despite this, I got USB-C to HDMI cable included in the package. Not the USB-hub with Ethernet ports and whatnot, just the HDMI cable.
Same here, backed the all-in upgrade and the car mount. With my Cosmo I also only received the Gemini-branded USB-to-HDMI cable. Sent an email inquiring about this about two weeks ago and received this answer on January 16th:
"Anything that hasn't been shipped with your order will be shipped separately within 2 weeks from today. At the time we shipped everything that was in stock, as we didn't want to hold the Cosmo by stock limitations for the accessories."

So, based on the timeline trend set by Planet Computers on Indiegogo, I expect the rest of the stuff will arrive sometime in the next three months.

The screen never rotates by itself, only if I use the button to forcibly rotate.
It does, if also Settings -> Accessibility -> Auto-rotate screen is switched on.
Cannot find that setting in Accessibility. Can someone post a screenshot.

Cosmo Communicator - Hardware / Keys getting stuck

Have my Cosmo for three weeks now. For a device that should be a winner because of the physical keyboard, I'm not impressed: left shift key and X don't register unless pressed very firmly. Spacebar is unreliable. About 50% of the time it works, and about half of that time it puts out 2 spaces. Sent PC an email about this, but apart from getting a confirmation that the email was received, no reply. Needless to say I'm not happy with this.
Is this something that will get better with use or is this just a crappy design?
Follow-up: got an email from PC-support today that the keys may need to be reseated (take them off, clean underneath, put back on). Tried it, but it doesn't help at all (as I expected after reading the other posts in this thread). Will follow-up again with PC and keep you informed.

Cosmo Communicator - Android / HTML support when writing in AirMail

Talking about Airmail: did anyone find out how to remove accounts added to Airmail? I haven't been able to do that.

Cosmo Communicator - CoDi / Contacts list on cover display
« on: January 04, 2020, 12:57:24 pm »
The A-Z icon in the contacts section of  the front cover phone app should allow easy access to all contacts, but my list stops at the letter J. The rest is not visible and therefore cannot be used from there. I have over 400 contacts in my  phone, most of them with multiple phone numbers, but to me it's really strange that the front cover phone app would not be able to show them all. Is this a bug that I should report, or is there a setting somewhere I haven't found yet?

Cosmo Communicator - Android / Odd Behavior Thread

Oh.. and the search thing - I got that problem, contacted Planet.. The default language set by the Planet Keyboard app is wrong. It's like "English, USA (PC)" or similar. You need to select a "plain" English USA or whichever locale you prefer without the PC bit or otherwise NONE of Android's indexing functions will work. They may have fixed this in the latest firmware update, but if not, if you ever go into the Planet keyboard app to reselect your language, you need to go into the Android native language settings and fix it up again there afterwards.
This helped me a lot. I've been trying to get  OK Google to work on my Cosmo for an entire afternoon, but the option  to enable it was greyed out. Switching to English US without the PC, fixed that. And it fixed the case sensitive search in Contacts as well. Thanks!
