Can it be a contact problem ? Because it only happens while playing without external power.

Hello,
because I had noticed some bugs of my Archos AV 500.
1. After relighting the display shows one half in normal colours, and the other half shows wrong colours.
2. Sometimes the player shuts down while playing. (not connected with extern power)
I exchanged the item by my dealer. Now, after 2 weeks the player shows the same bugs.
What is this, a softwarebug ot Archos has a series error.
I wrote to Archos, but I got only the same message as every times, to send back the item to the vendor.
OK I can exhange the player again, but I think its not the solution.
Has anyone similary problems ?
I´m very angry about this ......

rarely, but sporadically the AV500 suddenly shuts down.
I noticed that, by listening mp3´s , when a new track starts.
Does anybody know, what the reason is ?

Yes of course, I think the most things happen, while the power supply is plugged. I hope it is an bug. Than I wait for an update, that will fix the problems.

Hello,
4 weeks ago I bought an Archos AV500. So far I am content with the equipment. But sometimes the equipment shows some little strangely errors. Where I don’t know, is this a bug? One reads the strangest phenomena, in the most diverse forum.
As told, the Arcos is now 4 weeks old. And some days ago following happened. After relighting the display shows one half in normal colours, and the other half shows wrong colours. After that, I tested the equipment extensively. But nothing else mattered.
Is it a software bug? Or is it defect?
I therefore would like to ask you for your opinion about the Archos AV 500 (or
similarly Archos devices.) Do they run error free with you? Please write down your impressions in this threat.

Hi, I write from germany, so excuse my bad english.
I have a problem with my archos av 500. I bought the archos 4 weekks ago. And every time I plug in the the power supply , the arcos shows mistakes in playing mp3 files.
1. Sometimes, I will play a mp3 file, I will hear no sound ( the file is loaded, the playback icon is shown, but no timestamps are shown)
2. The song starts playing , but after ca 5 sec the sound grows silent (playtime stops)
3. Not so offten, the arcos hangs.
I see the hdd LED is lighting, that indicates the songs loaded. And then the mysterious things happen.
I noticed, that this issues only happen while playing mp3 files. Playing videos and photos is OK.
But it is strange that all the described errors appears while the power supply is plugged in.
Please help me what I can do in this case.
