For Sale / Wanted / For Sale: Non-functional C3100 - All Black
« on: August 24, 2007, 02:37:47 pm »
Hi,

I am selling my non-functional C3100. It died after flashing the OS. Everything that you'd expect from a boxed unit is included, except this has a replacement stylus and a black top from a C1000. I am also including my piel frama case. Starting bid is $50.

Thanks!

Here are some links to the Z and some accessories:

Sharp ROMs / Psx4zaurus Now Supports Cacko! :)
« on: November 09, 2006, 02:45:20 pm »
Holy impressive! I can't believe how well this runs. This is quite the show piece for a Zaurus.

Jon_J's instructions worked perfectly for a C3100.

I have only tested
Lunar 2: Eternal Blue (Disc 1 only so far)
Definately playable.
400MHz = 7-9 FPS and a slight shutter in the audio every 3-4 seconds.
624MHz(204 bus) = 9 - 12 FPS and the slight shutter is there but lessened.

I am going to try Bubble Bobble and Macross later. I'll let you guys know how it goes. Haven't been able to use save-state successfully yet, which is critical IMO.

I will also make a post in the PSX4ALL forums because I want to see more done for cacko and PSX4ALL.

Truely fantastic. Thanks for doing this!

Cresho, I found a Turbogradx CD ripper.
I've ripped my Ys Book I & II CDROM
I now have 43 audio tracks (*.wav) 712MB
1 ISO file 16.4MB
1 Cue file
All the *wav files play, just like they did in the game on my now busted TG-CDROM drive.
This program enables you to make backup copies of the Non-standard TG-CD format.

I'm wondering, what I need to do with the ISO to make it into a *.pce file, so I can play it in this emulator on my Zaurus?

I don't think I'll be able to get all or any of the soundtrack/music files to work in the emulator, but if that's possable, it would be a bonus

I've attached the readme file for this cool little program, and if you want it you can PM me or get it here:

there is already a emulator for playing cd games.  pm me and lets get a few notes going

Sorry, I like posting when I tipsy.

This sounds like a great idea; I imagined myself releasing the first segacd emulator for any handheld platform, lofty dreams. I bought a TG16 on ebay because the games were so good and it represented somethign I wanted asa kid but couldnt aford.

This would be the cream of the crop, IMHO, something to mark thy name by.

But im just a lame gamer who drinks, what do i know. I am diminished in my coding potential for the sake of the dollar bill.

PS I wrote this truefully because I wanted to clarify that I created the the two folders "saves" and "ram" only, not the .dgen folder. Just to finalize our discussion, I will tey Cross Swords as you've suggested Cresho. Thank you Jon and Cresho.

Hi Cresho and Jon,

It was permissions. Those directories werent there, I had to create them. I used a chmod 777 to get it to work. Seems too work good now, passes a few tests at least.

But, any idea why Crossed Swords for the NeoGeo doesnt work? Just curious if its an easy fix, i am not requesting any sort of code changes.

Thanks a lot dudes! The help is greatly appreciated.

Andres

Hi Cresho,

I had tried saving like that but it didn't work. I get an error, "Couldn't save ... " when I use the save feature, using it the way you've described above. As an experiment, I tried saving a game using a rom from my internal drive, an ext3 partition, but that did work either.

So any ideas? Maybe I need to look for a settings file and see where the saves are saved to, change that ?

Thanks,

Andres

Hi,

First off, awesome job on the emulator, Cresho. I installed the lastest version last night and am really happy to see the genesis emulation is working now, with sound too. This really is a piece of work and a fantasic way to demo the power of the Z to the laymen.
But there  were a couple problems I had that I am hoping can be easily resolved:

1. <b>Saving the game doesn't work</b>, whether through the emus save state or the game. I am hoping this is an easy fix because games like Shadowrun and Starflight on the genesis require saving. I followed the installation instructions to the 'T'.

2. <b>Crossed Swords for the Neogeo doesn't work</b>. Not sure if anyone else cares if this one does.  It's a 2.8mb rom.

Does anyone have any comments on these two problems I am having?

Thanks,

Andres.

Sorry, I didn't read this to clearly. Desktops are possible, although I've never tried it myself.

Sharp ROMs / There Goes My Cacko ...
« on: June 01, 2006, 03:34:56 am »
Hey, thanks for the answers guys.

FYI: I returned the WCF12 and got my money back. I won a Symbol Spectrum on ebay. The card was recognized and the Connect command worked without a hitch. True plug and play.

It's hard to explain the awe I feel, looking at this little screen render my ebay.

Awesome.

Site Suggestions, Requests, and Updates / Is The Site Server Dying?
« on: May 10, 2006, 05:53:19 pm »
Just this morning I had an error message as opposed to the usual, "Page cannot be reached."

The error was, "SQL: Too many connections".

Maybe that lends a clue.

Software / Which Java Package?
« on: May 08, 2006, 02:56:42 pm »
I know that the Personal-Profile is older than the J2ME and is less funtional, you should think about the J2ME one if any.

I think the J2ME is outdated too.

What you want is J2SE 1.4.2, but thats for pdaXRom only ...

Sharp ROMs / How Do I Get A Wcf12 To Work Under Cacko?
« on: May 05, 2006, 01:05:23 pm »
I am having troubles getting a Linksys WCF12 wirking under Cacko. I'm hoping someone can shed some light on my predicament.

EDIT:
Nevermind, I'm NOT going to flash the firmware today.

Is there anything else I can try?

From a previous post, here's what Ive done so far:

Quote
I created a new 'Wireless' profile in the Network applet in the Settings.

I have turned off AutoConnect in the Network applet in two places, the checkbox on the bottom labelled 'Autoconnect' and in the profile Wireless where it says 'Auto'.

I have set essid to 'sol' which is the same as the SSID value in my router.

NOTE: The connect button at the bottom of the Network applet is greyed out.

wlan-ng.conf
Removed all references to cards except mine.
Left in the top 2 lines:
1. device "prism2_cs"
2. class"wlan-ng" ...

Hostap_cs.config
Removed all references to cards except mine.
Left in the top 2 lines:
1. device "hostap_cs"
2. class"hostap" ...
I also left in the three lines of comments at the bottom.

The MANFID in both these files matches the output of the command: 'cardctl info'

I have reboot Cacko after making these changes. I have also tried 'remove the card(via taskbar ejector), /etc/.../pcmcia restart, insert the card'.

Thanks,

hm, hm, as for approved hardware.. i must've gotten lucky... tried 3 wifi cards, 5 bluetooth cards (4 different models), one lan card
all worked

the linksys thing should work IMO (it is just a prism chipset..), did you try a cardctl insert 0 when the connect button is greyed out? do you have the network icon at all on the taskbar/tray? (it is white/yellowish and looks like a power plug, at least to me  )
[div align=\"right\"][a href=\"index.php?act=findpost&pid=125497\"][{POST_SNAPBACK}][/a][/div]

The results of 'cardctl insert 0' is 'ioctl(): Device or resource busy'.

There is no networking icon in the taskbar.

Should I flash the firmware? Or just return it? Or is there something else I can try?

However, my experience shows: It is sometimes better to buy a card (or whatever accessory) for some additional dollars which is KNOWN to work, rather than trying to make one work which is questionable.
[div align=\"right\"][a href=\"index.php?act=findpost&pid=125382\"][{POST_SNAPBACK}][/a][/div]

So is the WCF12 not a good choice for a Wifi card? That's too bad because I found this one locally and cheap. I thought other people had reported success using it? I read everything I could find on it, and the only negative thing was some people had outages and had to frequently re-connect.

Here's what I've done, maybe you can help me make a decision if I should return the card or not.

Doesn't this command have the same effect as rebooting?

After all this
1. The connect button at the bottom of the Network applet is still greyed out.
2. Click connect in the start menu yields a message saying no hardware found.

What do I do now?
1. Should I try a firmware update?
2. Or, not even bother and just return the card for a refund?

Linksys WCF12: Hardware Revision 1A
Router: D-Link DI-524 Wireless Router

Thanks for your valued input,

Andres
