Debian / Were Can I Find Debian For My C860
« on: June 26, 2008, 12:39:30 pm »
Hello everyone,

I have successfully installed debian to my C860.
The steps are very simple.
1) Download Angstrom from angstrom autobuild area, anything is ok after 2007.12-r16.
Choose alt-boot imagesm so you don't have to download alt-boot.
link here : http://www.angstrom-distribution.org/unstable/autobuild/
2) Install angstrom.
3) After installation, boot angstrom, enter boot-password, then you can boot from sd card
4) reboot normally. copy /lib/modules to a storage card.
using alt-boot.
Do the following steps in linux-desktop.
4) download zdevil eabi-rootfs.
5) using linux desktop, create 2 partitions in sd card.
6) untar zdevil rootfs to partition 1 of sd card.
7) change partition 2 to swap.
8) do a mkswap on partition 2.
9) mount partition 1. change directory to /sbin
10) do a ln -s init init.sysvinit.
11) from the storage card in 4, copy to rootfs sd card the contents of /lib/modules.
Now insert the sd card to you 860.
12) boot using alt-boot choose sd card to boot and you have debian.

Felix.

pdaXrom Development / Apm On Current Kernel
« on: January 09, 2008, 08:59:48 pm »
Dear louigi600,

After a long while and many other tasks I found the reason :

Some of the older c7x0 or 8x0 have older battery -- the 1700mAH variety with approx. 3.6-3.8V when full.
During use, the battery falls to 3.5-3.6V. The old sharp kernel knows this, so the battery is recharged
correctly. However, if you use F+D+M and check battery status then status is battery low. Apparently
sharp does not use this info. For the newer cells, the battery when fully charged is approx. 4.0V so there
is a huge difference which is why the problem with apm.

Felix.

Dear louigi600,

Just a little off-topic :

Is apm returning correct battery info for you in r197?
The battery info is  wrong whenever I installed r197 which caused my
860 to shut off in a few minutes time with no way to wake it up.

I do know a little bit on kernels, but I cannot debug anything
with my Z shutting down every few minutes needing a full reboot ...

C1000/3x00 Hardware / Custom Cf Card Design
« on: July 03, 2007, 11:13:55 pm »
Dear wsuetholz,

Sorry to inform you that you cannot just wire 2 cf cards together to
form multifunction card. You need a selector to select between the
two cards. That bit requires both hardware (a splitter IC) and software
(implemented in both the attribute and common memory space).

basically you need in card space stating that you have 2 or more functions,
their respective memory/io address ... etc.

« on: April 19, 2007, 10:28:13 pm »
Hi there,

tried flashing about 12 times already but still does not work.
I guess you guys must have a different AC adapter or battery.

Whenever I plug in the AC adapter there is an error.
My battery still shows 0%.

returning to Beta 1 ...

« on: April 18, 2007, 10:42:50 pm »
Dear Zdevil,

you said that you flashed it without AC power. Would that be the hint?
When you flashed it, what is your battery level ?
Because I have problem with r121 and r197, when I flashed it my
batt. level is very low ....

I will reflash it again with full charge and see what happens.

Felix.

Zaurus - pdaXrom / New Pdaxrom Release R197
« on: April 17, 2007, 09:41:13 pm »
Hi there,

I can also confirm the APM issue is still there. I have make more checks,
hopefully a clue lies somewhere :

(1)
when 860 is off (cannot suspend), no AC adapter, the machine will
boot up normally, but battery status (using APM command) is off-line, battery status
high 0%. But then, after I plug in AC, the APM status change to on-line, battery status
critical, 5%.

This happens even in emergency mode.

(2)
when 860 is off and I connect AC to boot. the screen will show
sharpslpm AC adapter error and cannot charge message.
APM status is on-line, battery status critical, 5%.

Hope that helps,

Felix.

Hi there,

I tried to use orb to stream to c3000. But the file format is
either realplayer or 3gp. Are they supported in zaurus?

Zaurus - pdaXrom / Resuming Problem
« on: February 11, 2007, 08:53:29 am »
Hi there,

I have reinstalled r121 and I can confirm that even with the apmxx.ipk fix
I still got the 5% battery problem (ie. suspend and never wake up.)

Does anybody have other hints ?

BR,

Felix.
