I've gotten everything to work - except calendar.

I still get the error that gpe-calendar is looking for shared library: libgnutls.so.12

I downloaded the package named gnutls from Xromer's feed - but I still get the error!

Where did you find the libgnutls package that makes your calendar happy?

Thanks!

Uhm......! It' s strange, please see that the files of the package gnutls are linked in your main /usr/lib dir.
Or simply run ipkg-link add gnutls.
If error occours the same, tell me and i will look at the gnutls package if there' s something wrong.

Poo.  No idea then.
I'll try to run it in debug mode if I get a chance.

Try this.
Edit a default.txt in the same dir of the haret.exe
Put this WATCHGPIO 10
It means that Haret will stay watching for 10 secs the GPIO events.
If the command works do something like insert or eject the SD or the compactflash, touch the screen with the pen, do anything that needs an I/O by the SIG III.
Tell me all the answers of the Haret tool doing these.

I suspect (or more correctly truly believe) that Sashz's comment about
"OZ must die" was said in humor

Hope this too.

4 things.

1) None has the rights and power to decide over the future of PdaXrom than Sashz and Laze, i think.
As this is a Sashz creature and i didn' t want to tell or do anything like that.
I didn' t like his behaviour only that in future with a stable connection and a new team will change logically.
For this reason I would like to see after 26th of June what Sashz will decide.
2) I learnt and i' m learning a lot with these teams, i have only to thanks all, but i have only one Zauri as i said so time by time i have to choose, this is why i would like th efforts to be nearer as possible.
3) As i' m primarily a user, i' m expressing only displeasure of this fighting behaviour between developers which energies are very precious and that ports only confusion in the Zauri comunity.
4) UHM...... Sure i did a bad thing saying this stuff in the Forum, surely i had to speak only with Sashz first (I tried) and i' m sorry for that, but this was only an attempt to unite not divide first the Sashz's post.
I think it will be the last as i saw it' s not possible.
So spawn your own projects, fight as you want, you' re free to do it.
But do not blame people when they become angry or confused because it' s your fault as your behaviour reflects as an echo in the comunity.

Did you try the original (0.3.5) haret?  That started up with less errors...

What did you use to connect to the sig3?  I tried from XP via telnet, but the TCP/IP connection didn't want to work properly - it seems a nasty hack that MS have made to get it sort of working...
[div align=\"right\"][a href=\"index.php?act=findpost&pid=132273\"][{POST_SNAPBACK}][/a][/div]

I tried all chiark, the things that i need, as the WATCHGPIO function, don' t want to work.

Busy, busy! - The sources are available and if anyone fixes anything i will personally make sure the fixes get implemented into the build - we are moving to SVN asap but until then.

Btw. the biggest problems arent in the kernel stuff which Sash is focused on - it so many "experts" are disliking the pdaXrom i can't believe why they just spend like 20-30 minutes looking at the preferences programs which are all written in python and make them better and maybe even in C. All the current python stuff were just quick workarounds until we had the time to code them in C - acutally Zumi is working on that but im sure he could use some help. http://mail.pdaxrom.org/soc/

Its just a matter of looking how the python scripts does stuff and then make that prettier and into C native apps.
[div align=\"right\"][a href=\"index.php?act=findpost&pid=132143\"][{POST_SNAPBACK}][/a][/div]

Well Laze, all the things can be done.
Python scripts can be easily corrected, people with the builder installed can easily compile the packages .
I agreed with cuckr when he said that Pengutronix tools are an excellent choice and all kernel enhancements done by Sashz were great.
So those are not the problem of the PdaXrom distro.
The problem is that people don' t have the time to hunt you and Sashz for helping you.
And the Sashz behaviour to be always misterious in anwers and PdaXrom management doesn' t help.
The last phrase OZ must die when we are all talking about collaboration it' s an example.
UHM.......! Hope for PdaXrom that this will change, because it' s, i think, the main problem for the users and contributors and not coding or utilities problems.

Okay, finally got gpe-calendar to run.

Coz i installed the apps offline (don't have connection fixed yet), i need to add things manually. For those who are in the same situation, here are the lib you have to install, on top of those in Xromer's contrib feed:

libsoup
libhandoff
libgnutls
libgcrypt
libgpg-error

All these can be found in the current Beta4 feed.

Some initial results:
Looks quite some new goodies in this version. The view is differernt and richer. Nice.
Found segfaults when: 1) Import; 2) Edit "My Calendar" in the Calendars window. (Interesting that I can set up a new personal calendar but the stock "My Calendar" cannot be deleted or edited. Those who have tried will know what I am talking about.    )

Will try the alarm soon.

Overall this version is more polished and good-looking, although the load time seems longer than the older version. But still it's just a matter of 2 or 3 seconds. No big issue.

I'm going on a trip for a week tomorrow. Let me take the GPE pim on the road and see how they fare.
[div align=\"right\"][a href=\"index.php?act=findpost&pid=132089\"][{POST_SNAPBACK}][/a][/div]

Well, i note these segfaults too, no way to correct as they are not errors, they are problems due to the different version of GTK+ used by the 2 distros.
Everytime the functions gtk_file_selection_set_select_multiple is called to spawn the file selection window, the Zauri tries to get an invalid memory address as i debugged with the help of neal
Infact, if you note, all other functions that use the same libraries in the 2 distros work perfectly.
However, do not worry, sure now Sashz with the new team will upgrade all the packages.
Then the problems will be solved.

Well, libgnutls is not found in the Beta1 and Beta4 feeds. So...
[div align=\"right\"][a href=\"index.php?act=findpost&pid=132025\"][{POST_SNAPBACK}][/a][/div]

HIHIHIHI!!! Package name is gnutls.

Thanks again, Xromer. Please keep up the good work.

gpe-filemanager runs without any issue (so far). Nice work.
gpe-calendar can install, but it reports missing libhandoff.so.0. Any hint?
[div align=\"right\"][a href=\"index.php?act=findpost&pid=131830\"][{POST_SNAPBACK}][/a][/div]

Offcourse, you have to install the libhandoff package on my feed.
:-)
[div align=\"right\"][a href=\"index.php?act=findpost&pid=131871\"][{POST_SNAPBACK}][/a][/div]

Okay. Now this Beta4 version of gpe-calendar actually looks for libhandoff, libsoup (both in your feed), and libgnutls (not found in the feeds)... So can't try it out yet.
[div align=\"right\"][a href=\"index.php?act=findpost&pid=131964\"][{POST_SNAPBACK}][/a][/div]

What' s not in my feed it' s in the main of beta4, this for a disk space reason obviously and to not repeat what Sashz has just done.
Point the two feeds (main and mine) in the ipkg.conf and all should work, if not tell me because maybe i did deps errors in the packages.

wow, good luck, keep up the good work!!

i don't know what haret etc is, this is all over my head, so i can only support you by wishing good luck etc etc  but i'd like to learn...

oh and i can help with hacking pocketpc apps. let me know what app you need.
[div align=\"right\"][a href=\"index.php?act=findpost&pid=128116\"][{POST_SNAPBACK}][/a][/div]

Well i started haret and make it watch for GPIO, but it gave me a lot of errors.
One of this it' s when come up, it gives EXECPTION reading coprocessor 15 register 0
After that without running any script it gives Unknow keyword '`'
I think the problem is WinCE 4.1 and the fact the other messages are in Japanese.

However, I don't think pdaXrom needs to be forked. I just think it needs to be opened up, updated, cleaned up, debugged, given a direction and a clear roadmap for all to see where it's going, how it's going to get there and when.
[div align=\"right\"][a href=\"index.php?act=findpost&pid=131821\"][{POST_SNAPBACK}][/a][/div]

That' s what i' m telling Sashz since time but didn' t have a valid answer.
I' m tired and there to leave PdaXrom.
Happy Luck to you everyone.
Hope that something change, as i would like that the very little i can do and later improvements, will be for Zauri comunity benefits.

P.S. Sorry guys, i have only one Zauri and it will make me do Distro choices time by time.

Angstrom & OpenZaurus / Oz-feed Compatibility
« on: June 18, 2006, 02:40:32 pm »
Installed the new OZ 3.5.4.1
What i have to say, very beatiful work!
It' s stable GPE works, very, very well.
Now 2 problems.
1) It' s the 3.5.4 feed compatible with the new 3.5.4.1?
2) How the memory it' s managed?
I tried to load an Images dir with the gpe-gallery, it went out beginning to write on the HD and being very slow the Memory applet told it were using 192166000% of memory????? I think it were writing on the temp dir, is it right?
It is better to do a swapfile?
What i did wrong?

THX Karlito, try them guys!
See what' s going on with announce more deep.

Note: If you have problems with announce, remember to unload the volume applet from the panel.
This because it takes the /dev/dsp busy and makes it refuse any other connection.
This was last time what happened to me.
