Angstrom & OpenZaurus / Opera7.55 For Oz/opie 3.5.4-rc
« on: July 07, 2006, 01:43:45 am »
quote: 3 - verify that the symbolic link in /usr/share/opera is right, in my Z the link was to  -> /media/card/packages/opt/QtPalmtop/opera/ but in my SD is not the directory Packages, so i link to  -> /media/card/opt/QtPalmtop/opera/

end quote

This worked for me -- but i installed to root because i have root on SD

so i did:

rm /usr/share/opera

and ln -s /opt/QtPalmtop/opera /usr/share/opera

and installed qte-font-helvetica-small, qte-font-helvetica-large (common, fixed, etc)

works great.

Cheers

Angstrom & OpenZaurus / Suspend / Resume Issue
« on: July 02, 2006, 09:28:25 pm »
Sorry for the late reply...

But I was getting the issues with Hentges 3.5.4 -- When I held the cancel/on key for a few seconds to shut down.  It would dim the screen & lock up, requiring a reset.

There was a thread on it where people seemed to basically give up and agree to use the menu shutdown.  I couldn't train myself to remember this, and even when I did it would sometimes lock up.

5x00 General discussions / Slow Nat With Gentoo & Zaurus
« on: June 07, 2006, 01:27:37 am »
Hi there,

I followed the gentoo "home router howto"  found here:  http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/home-router-howto.xml

Substituting LAN=usb0 and WAN=eth0

Zaurus connects find and will download the first chunk, then invariably slow down to under a kilobyte per second.

I'm using an fa-311 as the nic.

I can ssh to the zaurus just fine.

using kernel 2.6.16.9, usbnet compiled as module.

It runs fast and fine in windows.

I would greatly appreciate if someone can shed some light on this

Sharp ROMs / Hostap For Sharp Roms
« on: May 17, 2006, 04:56:02 pm »
I'm trying desperately to get a prism3 based card (sandisk connect_plus) to work with any sharp rom/derivative on my sl-5500

I've followed directions from this site: http://www.dsitri.de/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=58

but the kernels I've built have been unstable, and I can't force-load hostap modules from kernel source thats available (rom 3.10)

Any help is appreciated.  I can get the card to work in openzaurus, but the suspend/resume bugs with collie are too much for me.

Thanks,

Bryan

5x00 General discussions / Snes9x Sdl Keymapping & 5500

Hello all,

I'm trying to map the "Menu", Mail, Home, and OK buttons to  Y, A, X,B respectively...

Does anyone know what the keycode for these are in Opie/OZ?

Has anyone successfully mapped any of these buttons, or have a functional export setting at all for a 5500?

Appreciate any help,

Bryan

I know got opera working, but before it can completly loads a webpage it ends up with SegFaults or illegal instructions.
Very strange. I have a poodle with a PXA-250.
And I use swap, so there is enough RAM.

EDIT:
Got it, had to use the right opera.ini
GREAT

Hello,

I've upgraded to 3.5.4 and upon following the howto at: acb @ benzton guidehttp://www.bentzon.net/acb/sandisk.htm

The script, which worked great in 3.5.3 returns the following:

Sharp ROMs / Help! Sandisk Wi-fi + 128mb Card Not Working
« on: March 03, 2006, 02:08:57 pm »
Does anyone know if this ipk will work with an sl-5500? Or if it can be adapted to work?

The card works under OZ 3.5.3 just the same as indicated in this forum, not being able to come out of suspend w/o a reflash.

I'd love to make it work with cacko/sharp, as would many others.

I Appreciate it,

Bryan

Thanks a million!

I hope you don't mind,  but I posted the ipk to my web site with your instructions.  I think a lot of people have this card and have been wanting to use it.   You the MAN!

Oh,  I had to rename the ipk to "sandisk-plus_arm.ipk"  because the package installer complained that it had to have that name to be installed.

Hobbies have to take a back seat to work deadlines.

Here's the ipk.  The Sandisk card should function like any other network card after installing.  Other networking cards should also still work same as before.

It installes a command line program.  You can run "sandisk_plus net" or "sandisk_plus mem" to switch between network and memory mode.  If you are adventurous, you can also try "sandisk_plus both" although for me it makes both of them not work.

The ipk overwrites files in /etc/pcmcia, so please back up this directory first.  If you want to uninstall, you'll need to restore this directory.
