Thanks that does help.

I didn't know that the battery lasted longer on the 100gb version, but i have decided to go for the 30 gb version as it is the only one i can afford unfortunately.

i have recorded one film directly from the tv which is 2 hours long and it has used 1500mb of memory which seems.  According to my calculation this means that i will only beable to store 40 hours on the hardrive and not 120 hours as advertised.


When downloading films from the internet does it take up alot less memory / space on the hardrive compared to when recording directly from the TV ?

adjust your recording to 500mb--the quality is still good and will triple your capacity

this may very un tech--but if the recording exceeds 2gig (which can happen if recording above 500 a new file is created ---did you check for an additional file

I know that when i record a protected dvd a P appears on the screen but is there any way to tell after it is saved which file is protected(can not be played except on av500) --I loaded 40 movies some protected and some not--short of trying each on a tv is there any id in the file that shows it as protected

i plan on travel to europe and israel --i know that i need an adapter for the plug but will i be able to use the power connector that came with us product --
