problem solved. :-D

prism2_srec is contained in the hostap-utils package.

the way for my WPA settings to work in r121 is to first install wpa_supplicant package, modify /etc/wpa_supplicant.conf on the network settings, then

1. Load the firmware (pm010102.hex, rf010804.hex in this case)
2. ifconfig wlan0 up
3. wpa_supplicant -c /etc/wpa_supplicant.conf -D hostap -i wlan0 -B
4. dhcpcd wlan0

/var/log/dmesg is not dinamic, it's just a copy of the kernel ring buffer content just after boot. if you want to inspect what's going on currently type:
dmesg | more

I have the same problem. I just flashed my C3200 with r121 today. However, when I plug in my PLANEX Wifi Card nothing seems to happen.

No light or whatsever.
Nothing comes up in /var/log/dmesg as well.
(in beta3, it will actually mention the missing .hex file in dmesg, but in r121 it seems that nothing is detected or executed when the card is inserted)

any command available to detect the card? (like cardctl which is not in r121)

Sharp ROMs / New Feed For Sharprom And Compatible
« on: December 03, 2006, 05:03:43 pm »
Quote
A new feed for Sharprom and compatible distros (cacko, ...) is available here:

http://sharpromfeed.home.linuxtogo.org/feed/

Just add this feed to your /etc/ipkg.conf then:
Code: [Select]
ipkg update
ipkg install vim

This feed is built using Openembedded. As part  of the project I will publish instructions on how to setup your own OE environment to build software for Sharprom.

The aim of this feed is to be a central place where you can find up-to-date packages for Sharprom, without worrying about missing dependencies.

I haven't built every software available in OE yet, so feel free to post requests here.

cool, I'm looking forward for your instructions on how to build applications with OpenEmbedded.

Zaurus - pdaXrom / Zaurus Serial Port
« on: October 25, 2006, 11:55:55 pm »
Hi all,

I have found the zaurus serial port page in here: http://mail.pdaxrom.org/node/92

I would like to know what exactly is it for, and how exactly it is being used? So you will have to build that board and connect it somewhere to the Zaurus?

So anyone has the information on how what the pin layout is?
I will be intersted to know that, as I might try to create a custom bootloader to test things out.

C1000/3x00 Hardware / Where Can I Find C3200 Schematics
« on: October 23, 2006, 09:23:56 pm »
Hi all,

Is there any schematics or documentations or wiki page available that specify the pin layout, hardware for the 3x00?? Or the best way is to reverse engineering the information from the kernel sources?

I would like to start making some developements on it.

    Thanks in advance.

Angstrom & OpenZaurus / Planex Wireless Card Not Working
« on: October 15, 2006, 08:58:00 pm »
Mine is Terrier, I'm using the same card as you and 3.5.4.1 (Oz/OPIE), I have no problem getting it work.

When you say it does not work, what exactly does the card resposne? Does the led flashing?

Also, are you using WEP or PSA?
I failed to connect to my network (WEP enabled) before, then I realise I have to do a search (one of the option in network settings) for it to find the AP.

It might not be the problem you had though (since you mentioned you can't even display the MAC address of your card), just wonder if it is activated or not.

Hi,

I installed OpenZaurus (3.5.4.1) on my akita and now my Planex card GW-CF11X does not work anymore. I used to work with the original Sharp ROM and Cacko 1.23.

The details:

Socket 0:
product info: "PLANEX COMMUNICATIONS INC.", "PLANEX GW-CF11X Wireless CF Card", "", ""
  manfid: 0xd601, 0x0010
  function: 6 (network)

Is it possible to make it work on OpenZaurus?

The network tool does not show the MAC address for the card under wlan 0.

Thanks for any help,

Bernard

Angstrom & OpenZaurus / [solved] Wep Access Question
« on: October 01, 2006, 07:19:53 pm »
Hi, I have installed OZ/OPIE 3.5.4.1 on my c3200. However I'm facing with a strange problem when accessing my wireless network (WEP, shared).

The first time setting it up via "Network" managed to work successfully, however once I removed my CF-Wifi card (PLANEX GW-CF11X) without doing a proper 'eject' from the applet, I can never manage to get a connection to my network.

(I tried to reflash the system again, and it appears to be the same. First time = always success, but once I just take the card out, insert it again, I won't be able to make a connection.)

WPA using wpa_supplicant does work in WPA environment though.

Ok, after playing with the network settings, finally solved the problem. Just have to let to detect the channels, the default setting does not work.

Software / Any Ebook Software That Can Read .pdb For Palm?
« on: April 24, 2006, 09:45:19 am »
ok....tried all of those software but they all failed....
I guess the pdb file I've got are in iSilo format, which is not PalmDoc.
Looks like there is no way to view them in Z at the moment.

Software / Any Ebook Software That Can Read .pdb For Palm?
« on: April 24, 2006, 04:37:21 am »
As stated in Title.

i.e. the format that can be opened by Isilo.

(The reason is that I do have a number of ebooks in those format, now just bought the Z and would like to read those with it.)
