in fact is possible to have cacko 1.23 with japanese (i have my c3200 like that), but is a pain.

is much easier to do what Menie suggested

Software / Ann: Updates To Edict, Kanjidic, Enamdict

Hi!

I have been using your epwings dirs, and are small, good and fast withing ztenv.

However I have found some strange behaviors compared with the original EDICT.

For example:
たら is defined in EDICT (normal, from edict page) as:
たら /(prt) indicates supposition/if ... then/

However, in the EPWING versions, isn't appearing anywhere.

Also, こころ:
心 [こころ] /(n) mind/heart/spirit/(P)/

However, in the EPING versions, only says: spirit.

Is a reason behind this, is a bug, or i'm just expecting too much?

C1000/3x00 General discussions / Zdict

Hi!

I have a c3200

I installed cacko, and ztenv, so i can actually use all edict dicts, BUT, i can't use the kojien and genius dicts.

I installed all ztenv libs, the kakasi-2 from zten, and downloaded a zdict from this post, but still, i can't see my kojien and genius dicts neither on ztenv, zenv2000 or zdict.

any suggestion?

my dicts, are, as default, in /hdd3/dict1/kojien (or the default one in the hdd)

help

my dicts are useless :S

I am using a SL-C1000 and with CACKO ROM 1.23, I can have below japanese apps. install.

Japanese Input Method (Include Japan Hand writting) (From Cacko Feed)
Japanese Applet
Japan <--> English Transaltions (From Cacko Feed)
Japen Dict. (From Cacko Feed)
Japen Train Transit (Backup form SHRAP ROM)

I was able to convert almost everything, and is working very great.

However, I have a question:

I have currently installed Ztenv, so I installed EDICT/KANJIDICT/ENAMDICT on /home/zaurus/Documents/dict

However, From ZtenV (I'm using version 1.9.25) I CAN'T read the dicts genius and kojiten that I have at:
/home/hdd3/dict1/genius
/home/hdd3/dict1/translator
/home/hdd3/dict2/kojiten

I trying installing the zdict (zdict_0.1_arm.ipk), however, I get an error regarding kakasi, and can't lauch it.

Does anyone know how I can run ZDict for a c3200 (or 3100, i suppose will be the same).
I want to try those dicts also, because everyone says are quite good

Sharp ROMs / Genius/kojiten Question, C3200/cacko/japanese

Hi!

I'm in Japan, studying a 6-month japanese course.

I just bought the Zaurus, and I know is much more powerful than a Palm (That's a reason of why I bought it).

Right now, I want to use it as a Japanese<->English dictionary, so, i DON'T want to lose all Japanese support, I just need the menus/desc translated into English.

So far, I think I have 2 options:

1) Use it as it is (my japanese is still bad, so many things I can't read)
2) Use the english translation of c3200 that was posted on zaurus-themes (or maybe trisoft).
3) Install Cacko 1.23

I'm a computer engineer, so I'm not that scared to play with linux, but, it seems that some things need to be done.

I want to use Cacko for the improvements made over oficial ROM, but, is there some advise about how to put ALL japanese support, without losing the english translation?

I know there is a  "Japanese Kernel for Cacko ROM 1.23", but I don't know if that will include ALL japanese support (because the one that comes with zaurus rom is great). Also, I know is a kernel, but i suppose is different than the ROM, I don't know how to install/test it.
