Off Topic forum / Is There A Linux For...

Thanks Tom61, I appreciate the effort.  Unfortunately, the last status date is 03/06/2005 and what I read didn't look too positive.  I am grateful you tried.

What a shame.  Got the e550g brand new for a song last year.  Great battery life, screen, etc. and I have to use - I won't say it   For those who care it can be seen here http://www.pdagold.com/hardware/detail.asp?d=118

Oh well, the latest OZ put new life into the Z

regards

Angstrom & OpenZaurus / Smc2642w After Upgrade
« on: May 16, 2006, 08:08:15 pm »
After sucessfully upgrading to latest Opie the SMC2642 (prism) does not work.  I've searched, read the posts, looked at bugzilla http://bugs.openembedded.org/show_bug.cgi?id=836 and am at a loss.

Before I try installing - I don't know what - does anyone have this card working on a Collie with the latest Opie?

It was working fine with the March release before upgrading.

Thanks

Edit:  Beter add this:  As in some other posts the update stopped wireless from working.  Can not bind in the card config app - and don't see prism listed.

Edit #2:  Reinstalled hostap-conf_1.0-r4_all.ipk, booted and she works fine now.

Wouldn't you know it, try several times to fix something, put out a cry for help and next thing you know the brain kicks in and problem solved

Angstrom & OpenZaurus / Problem Upgrading - Fixed
« on: May 16, 2006, 03:52:19 pm »
First - OZ is great

Installed the Mar 06 Opie release but, due lockups and other issues I'm trying to upgrade to the April 06 files in the hope it is more stable.

I've tried several times, after logging out of Opie and using ipkg update / ipkg upgrade using wireless - SMC2642W.  Every time it stops at downloading libqte2_2.3.10-r32_collie.ipk

I've spent five full days on OZ 3.5.4, reading posts, FAQs, etc. and started the upgrade yesterday.  Now I'm stuck.  (hmm, maybe ran out of space)

If I need to install this lib from a local copy how do I break out of the ipkg cleanly, install the lib and restart the upgrade?

Thanks

EDIT:  Ok, it was a space problem.  Moved opt and home to the SD and it works now.
