GPD - Linux OS / Ubuntu Mate on Pocket
« on: November 13, 2018, 06:53:39 am »
Resolved. I used the graphical grub customizer to switch on GRUB_GFXMODE 1200x1920 (https://wiki.ubuntuusers.de/GRUB_Customizer/) and that works.

GPD - Linux OS / Ubuntu Mate on Pocket
« on: November 13, 2018, 03:02:36 am »
I have a dual boot system too, Ubuntu Mate for Pocket 2 and Win 10. To run Windows, which I need sometimes, I have to hit FN+F12 to get a BIOS boot option menu - otherwise it starts automatically Ubuntu. If I don't do that I have no grub menu like normally on multi boot machines where you can choose the os to boot - just a black screen for maybe 15 seconds and then Ubuntu Mate ist starting. Does anybody else see this behavior? Both OS are working cool, it's just the lack of a grub menu.

Compiling on sailfish is easy, provided the libraries exist. I checked out typora and it looks great. There might be a bit of a porting effort and/or adding a qml interface. I might check it out and see if I can get it working.

That sounds really super! Thank you!

I've never tried Sailfish but want to, when v3 ist ready.
If I have a binary file for x86 / x64 it is not possible to compile it on a Sailfish Gemini isn't it? I would like to use Typora on a Gemini... https://abnerlee.github.io/typora/2015/03/11/why-typora/

Gemini PDA - Android / How to (sticky key)

I've tried it with the External Keyboard Helper app - but this did not work. Neither the sticky feature nor the umlauts after reboot. :-/

Gemini PDA - General Discussion / Gemini PDA Gen 2 Features Request
« on: June 15, 2018, 06:12:06 am »
For my purposes (I write a lot without table/desk) it would be cool to have

- Energy saving display (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pixel_Qi)
- Back lit keyboard
- Some improvements for thumb typing (without sticky keys the Gemini is a way to wide and no fun)

A slightly larger writing tool (https://cl5944.myportfolio.com/product-service-scripto) is another of my dreams.

Gemini PDA - Android / Turn Voice Assistant button into note taker

I wonder if there is a way to start note taking (prefered speechnotes https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?...es.speechnotes) by pressing the silver button. With geminis lid closed it would be perfect.
Any ideas?

I am also interested in this. I had it on my Zaurus, but found no way under Android yet.

Is there a recommended lamp to light up the keyboard without blending?

Thanks in advance for some hints!

Software / Yahoo Maps Beta Flash Player 8
« on: August 30, 2006, 06:08:08 am »
As far as I know it is still not possible.
It is still one of the biggest wishes I have: I want to have a Flashplayer/-browserplugin for Cacko 1.23. I guess it is the license strategy of Adobe/Macromedia. But there is even no commercial product for the Z.

Anyone with enough knowledge to port it to Cacko?

I would like to test this one: Keysonic Nano -- but I did not yet. Sounds for me that it should work w/o problems.

Sharp ROMs / Video Locks Up My Zaurus :(

after using kino for awhile, it made my taskbar turn all black. I had to restart Qtopia to restore the taskbar.

This happens because mplayer writes to the framebuffer but doesn't "erase" afterwards. You don't need to restart Qtopia, simply open some app that goes fullscreen (terminal, photostorage slideshow, etc...) and when you close the app, your taskbar will be restored.

Another way is to flip the screen because in this case the taskbar will be rebuilt. But it is really annoying for me. Another thing is: it is not possible to play video-playlists. Audio is no problem, bu if I try with videos only the first will play, the others will be skipped. Does anybody have the same problem or a solution?

Hi Malik,

did you get it run? I´d love to have DVB-T on my Z...

The OnlineTVrecorder.com is just like a netbased videorecorder, no TV stream. There you can record TV in wmv9 files (1,5 hours ~500MB). It is an acceptable quality if you can play it on a Windows PC, but converting them into a Zaurus readable format will result in a to much visible lost of quality.
Does anybody have experiences with converting from wmv9 to a Zaurus format?
