Zaurus - pdaXrom / Epiphany Browser Cannot Find Shared Libs [fixed]
« on: October 10, 2007, 10:04:35 pm »
Quote from: Jon_J
I installed epiphany to my hard drive onto the same partition as I previously installed firefox.
/mnt/ide/
(everything else on this pdaxii13v2 zaurus is installed to NAND).
I also installed the gnome deps.
When I launch epiphany in a console, it complains it cannot find a shared library "libmozjs.so"
When I made a symlink of /mnt/usr/lib/firefox/lib/firefox-1.5.0.2/libmozjs.so to /usr/lib/libmozjs.so, I get a different message complaining that another lib cannot be found. (it is in the same directory as above).
Do I need to symlink all the libs in /mnt/usr/lib/firefox/lib/firefox-1.5.0.2/ to /usr/lib/ ?
Shouldn't the package manager take care of these symlinks?
Edit
Later I looked in /usr/lib and found /usr/lib/firefox/lib/firefox-1.5.0.2/
Why doesn't epiphany find this directories? It contains symlinks to the requested libraries in the console error messages.

you have to do this_
ln -sf /usr/lib/firefox/lib/firefox-1.5.0.2/* /usr/lib/mozilla/

Zaurus - pdaXrom / Pdaxii13 5.4.8 Hostap And Wpa

did you copy an old set of hostap modules from a 5.4.7 build on top of 5.4.8 in order to get it to work?
i don't have wpa so cannot test any wpa functionality, but the new hostap modules allow me to scan for wifi networks using iwlist and hence wifi-radar which the old ones did not let me do.

did you also upgrade the kernel? the kernel is included in the tools.tar file for 1000/3100/3200 whereas for the c3000, it needs to be downloaded separately as zImage-2.4.20.bin

the spca module works perfectly with some of my cameras whereas works not so good or not at all with some of my other cameras.

yes and yes, i copy the old hostap modules from 5.4.7 on top of 5.4.8, and used the updated tools.tar.

Zaurus - pdaXrom / Pdaxii13 5.4.8 Hostap And Wpa

I was testing the new 5.4.8 release, and wpa is not working with the new modules, i am not  sure what is the problem... but if i use the hostap modules from 5.4.7 works perfect.
I also tested the new spca module, works with my camera with a lot of interference, but works!!!!
well that's for the moment...

Zaurus - pdaXrom / Pdaxii13 On Nand

....
gmplayer is mplayer3 which is a newer version (more codecs) but less optimization (slower). it should work if you launch it from the command line. launching it from the menu sometimes does not work, but sometimes does, not sure why...

Hi Meanie, i found two reasons that make gmplayer not work. The hdimage for 5.4.5 missed  cdparanoia, that had some libs that gmplayer needs. The second thing... when you regenerate the menu of icewm the regeneration crops the last part of the command in gmplayer.desktop, and create a bad start command.

Sorry for the bad english, i speak spanish...
and... a complete and absolute off-topic.... you know a good way to buy australian bean coffe?...

Zaurus - pdaXrom / Want Compiled Thread?
« on: March 18, 2007, 04:08:11 pm »
Hi can someone compile Golly
http://golly.sourceforge.net/
It's a game of life simulator, but with more features than gtklife, and lucidlife. In golly you can change the rules for survive and born, for example.
I tried to compile this onboard with no luck.
Thanks

Zaurus - pdaXrom / Overclocking Beta3...
« on: November 11, 2006, 10:06:34 pm »
Code: [Select]
# set cpu clock speed
# "104", "208", "312", "416", "520", "624"
alias cpu1="echo '2000204' > /proc/zaurus/CCCR;sleep 10; echo '04' > /proc/zaurus/VCORE; echo '104'"
alias cpu2="echo '2000206' > /proc/zaurus/CCCR;sleep 10; echo '06' > /proc/zaurus/VCORE; echo '208'"
alias cpu3="echo '2000208' > /proc/zaurus/CCCR;sleep 10; echo '08' > /proc/zaurus/VCORE; echo '312'"
alias cpu4="echo '2000210' > /proc/zaurus/CCCR;sleep 10; echo '0a' > /proc/zaurus/VCORE; echo '416'"
alias cpu5="echo '2000214' > /proc/zaurus/CCCR;sleep 10; echo '0c' > /proc/zaurus/VCORE; echo '520'"
alias cpu6="echo '2000218' > /proc/zaurus/CCCR;sleep 10; echo '0e' > /proc/zaurus/VCORE; echo '624'"
alias cpumin="echo '2000204' > /proc/zaurus/CCCR;sleep 10; echo '04' > /proc/zaurus/VCORE; echo '104'"
alias cpunormal="echo '2000210' > /proc/zaurus/CCCR;sleep 10; echo '0a' > /proc/zaurus/VCORE; echo '416'"
alias cpumax="echo '2000218' > /proc/zaurus/CCCR;sleep 10; echo '0e' > /proc/zaurus/VCORE; echo '624'"

No problems now..., i don't understand why the delay between writes in the proc entries  works..... but works!!
Daniel.

Zaurus - pdaXrom / Overclocking Beta3...
« on: November 09, 2006, 01:40:05 pm »
i's not a fake overclock mode, i had already changed the script, so it really overclock the zaurus.

May it be a timing issue? Each alias writes into two proc entries. Can the time difference between writing into one and the other make the difference? The py script may be slower in that than the shellscript.

daniel

Maybe... i will make a script to make a pause between the two proc entries
