Zaurus - pdaXrom / Wpa Not Working With Rc12
« on: November 28, 2005, 01:31:57 pm »
I got it working now - but only with Cacko 1.23.

I followed the instructions at
OESF-Cacko Board
and got WPA-PSK working with RC12.

Before that I flashed my firmware of the WCF12 (now: station V1.1.1 / primary V1.8.4) - you can find
the flash instructions in the thread above, too.
Type "hostap_diag wifi0" to look at the firmware versions.

And, yes - I use hostap in Cacko.

It connects fine with my WRT54GS.

Perhaps anyone gets it working in pdaxrom - I'll try it again with RC>RC12 - because
the ROM it's worth...

Thanks for all the hints (and the audience   )

Uwe

It seems that even with the latest firmware update my prism III based Linksys WCF12 doesn't
support WPA.

So I looked for a WLAN CF Card with WPA support and couldn't find one.

Perhaps they don't exist...

Zaurus - pdaXrom / Kde-pim In Pdaxrom
« on: November 27, 2005, 02:41:12 pm »
I think the problem is that there is no "fast load" mode in pdaxrom.

So you either have to keep all kdepim apps running all the time or wait until they
are started.

Try to switch "fast load" off under your old Qtopia based ROM and you'll see starting of
kdepim apps is slow, too !

Uwe

I think you need the Hostap drivers :-)
[div align=\"right\"][a href=\"index.php?act=findpost&pid=105135\"][{POST_SNAPBACK}][/a][/div]

It doesn't matter - both orinoco and hostap drivers fail.
I just upgraded my Linksys WCF12 to the latest PRISM firmware 1.1.0/1.8.4 - same
result :-(

Connecting with no encryption works well.

Is there anyone who has a Linksys WCF12 and could connect with WPA to his access point?

Thanks for every help.
I'm a little bit frustrated...

Uwe

Hi,

I both tried wpa_supplicant 0.38 and 0.39 from unstable - with
no success
I always got
linkstatus=6 (association failed)

Has anybody a solution for that?
I tried wpa-psk as described in the wpa...conf.example....

Sharp ROMs / Cacko Rom 1.22 Is Available!

Hi again,

@Georg / Hakkikkt:
Many thanks for the hint - the problem really was the settings on
Dimming the LCD in battery mode.

So it definitely was NOT caused by Lisa /Cacko 1.22 !!

Sharp ROMs / Cacko Rom 1.22 Is Available!
« on: January 04, 2005, 04:03:33 am »
Hi again,

I got it! It seems that charging is
somehow corrupt.
Though my C760 was charged the whole
night it switched off as described above (when powered by battery).
When I put him on AC everything works again. And I'm quite sure my battery is
working well.

So after the whole night charging it
seems for me that the battery isn't
charged at all

Sharp ROMs / Cacko Rom 1.22 Is Available!
« on: January 04, 2005, 03:31:13 am »
Hi Anton,

in the meantime I resumed my C760 and after a short time the display swirched off(into totally black).
The LEDs still were on (charging + new email) but no key could switch the LCD on.

Power off worked but Power on again resulted in the same situation.

So I did a battery-out-restart.

The date-time applet came up and after pressing OK - the same situation - LCD black again.

So I don't know to get around this without reflashing to Lisa or perhaps 1.21b again...

If you could send me any hints how to get more debugging/crash info I could post it here or
post it to you.

Regards,
Uwe

Hi Anton,

I like Lisa very much. First time
that mc comes up in good lookl thanks to the vga font.
Besides my WLAN card Linksys WCF12 works out of the box

Now comes "the but":

1. the included libSDL does not work on
my C860(seeems to be for 5x00). I installed the Cxx0 version
from zports.sf.net - that works fine
for crimson fields on C series.

2. Deactivating the liblusscreensaver.so from the applet causes my C760 to restart (reproducable).

3. A friend of mine said that Elena stopped charging when the battery is full again - Lisa seems to charge all the time...

Lisa is a very good mixture - thx a lot.

Linux Applications / zgcc question
« on: September 15, 2004, 02:54:30 pm »
Hi w14,

I'm the maintainer of crimson fields for Zaurus and must definitely
agree with you that crosscompiling on not native machines can
be a disaster.

At the moment I try to compile my programs native on the Z.

I tried both zgcc and dev_img 1.5 und must say that dev_img ist the
best solution for native compiling - all you need for ./configure / make is included
and it works !

Give it a try.

Uwe

Accessories / C760 - Linksys WCF12 Wireless CompactFlash Card works.
« on: November 14, 2003, 08:12:21 am »
I have a C760 and the same card, but have no need to use orinoco-cs. I need prsm2_cs and it works fine. the only thing was, that i had to add an additional entry in wlan-ng.conf.
Though an entry for my card existed in this file my card was not recognized when inserting (no CF symbol).
After querying the slot with \'cardctl ident\' and adding these lines in the file, i got it working.

kismet was a little more tricky because the card suspends per default. so i had to add a pcmcia scheme that prevents the card from suspending.

When I start kismet this scheme is activated and when quitting kismet it is changed back.
