General Discussion / Q: Powermonkey Explorer In General
« on: July 16, 2008, 09:43:24 pm »
I just got my powermonkey explorer so I could power/charge my zaurus c1000 + c860,

I was wondering if anybody has any input regarding this device and how one can maximize it's use   ? As I stand, I hope to also charge my psp, zune, and misc. items. Does anyone know if I can charge the powermonkey via included solar charger while powering a unit??? (charge while discharging)

Also, what can I use my solar charger for (other than charging the powermonkey)?

thank you

Does anyone know if the EA-BL06 works in the C1000? Or what the mAh rating is for EA-BL06? (It is 1800 mAh for C1000.)

Not sure about it working on the c1000 ---to my knowledge, no.  The mAh rating is the classic 950 mAh at 3.7 v

I'm sorry  , they made it sound like it was directly compatible with a cf slot--as they stated an instance with a camera

take a google for qpose.
- Problem I've had is this requires a ROM image, which doesn't appear to be legally available on the 'net, and snagging the image from a disused unit requires a developer license or some such.  Is there any way to work around these limitations?  I have an old Palm III I can get the ROM from, if I only could...

Unfortunately not, Game-system wise you will also have the same issue with most, if not all, non-cartridge emulators

ROM's are not legal because it it is the (in this case PALM) company's proprietary code... I do not currently know of any free alternatives that are non-proprietary.
sorry

Software / Super Star Trek (console Version)
« on: May 05, 2008, 06:21:23 pm »
I finally found super star trek
(all other links seemed to be dead)
Enjoy it !

I put everything in a zip folder (file and doc)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
step-by-step for cacko distro:
I just put the sst.zaurus file on my cf card --opened up the konsole
did a " cd  /mnt/cf"
and then a "./sst.zaurus"

So the IR palm keyboard works well on the Zaurus? How much fiddling does that take to work? How's the keymapping?
the palm wireless keyboard works great on the zaurus! I had to install the "irk-zaurus-j" which is ver. 0.11.1f. Once installed, Palm wireless was one of the choices from a drop down list--and it worked. Almost all the keymapping is the same as the layout on the ir keyboard.....there is no cancel button and a few palm fn keys are disabled/not in use.  But other than that--it works great. I still have to play around with some of the features, I can assign hotkeys/buttons for the keyboard

speculatrix, how are you connecting/managing the cisco network kit? what are you using for a rss reader?

thanks

...But what I'd like to know (stealing the thread - sorry) is how easy is it to get the pickboard (which works fine in SharpROM) working in Cacko?  'Cos just occasionally it's helpful - e.g.in the dark!
Thanks,
Mark
If its the onscreen one you are talking about....I think it is enabled by default, just a short click from the keyboard icon
