SF / c860 for sale to sf local buyer
« on: September 10, 2004, 02:26:15 am »
Hi Guys,

I've had an awesome run with my c860, but I've decided to sell it for an actual laptop -- maybe an ibook, I hear they have good battery life.  But I'd prefer not to deal with the hassle of shipping, and I'm sure potential buyers would feel better about such a substantial purchase if they could see the unit in person and try it out.

Hence, this post to the SF zaurus people.  Any one want to upgrade to a c860?

The unit itself is in perfect working condition.  Original packaging, manuals, and driver cd also present.  I bought it from Dynamism, am not sure how the warranty transfers to another user, will call them and find tomorrow.

Accessories:

- PDAir leather case
- Ambicom WL1100C-CF WiFi
- Ambicom BT2000-CF Bluetooth
- Pocketop / MicroInnovations keyboard
- Brando Ultra Clear screen protector (i have some air bubbles trapped in one corner, but barely noticeable.. screen protector itself is amazing, no image degradation at all that i can detect)

The unit comes with the following software (most of which is easily installed, so this is not really a selling point) -- not a complete list, but everything i can remember off the top of my head:

- Cacko 1.21b ROM
- IQNotes
- OpieReader
- FreeNoteQt
- less (for console.. can't believe it wasn't included with cacko!  )
- gaim
- qazoo
- opera 7.30
- snes emulator
- Japanese language support (can switch to japanese with "language" app in settings

The whole bundle is going for $750.  If you only want tthe c860, it's going for $600.

Accessories / C860 Fn key emulation on Pocketop via IRK
« on: September 08, 2004, 09:57:03 pm »
Is there a solution for this?  I'm trying to use the various Fn + [key] combos for Netfront, such as text zoom (fn + 3 and 4, i think), open link in new window (fn + n), etc.

I tried using the codes returned by keyhelper conf, but that wasn't it.

I'm guessing perhaps there are qcop QPE/Application/netfront3 messages that can be sent?

This is on Cacko 1.21b ROM.

Thanks for any help!

Software / Palm-like Note taking app w/ synchronization?
« on: July 15, 2004, 06:59:32 pm »
Does anyone have a suggestion for a note-taking app that is similar to Palm Memo app, in that there are categories (something that the native Zaurus memo app seems to lack), but also has a way to synchronize with a desktop app?  It would be awesome if there was something like that built into KO/PI, but unfortunately that doesn't seem to be the case.

Software / SNES on C860

is there something special that must be done to get sounds working?  TIA

6
ah, this is on the cacko 1.21 sharp-based rom, by the way... not sure if that makes a difference (in that japanese fonts aren\'t installed?).

7
oh cool, thanks for the link, will try that today.  how is japanese input handled?  is there additional work that needs to be done to get iqnotes with japanese support working on the 860?

Thanks!

ahh... correction.  Zstyle seems to be installed in some form or another, as it appears in my Settings tab.  Generates this error, however:

zstyle: error while loading shared libraries: /home/QtPalmtop/lib/libqpe.so.1: undefined symbol: qws_server_display_spec

Anyone have an idea what\'s going on?

Is it possible to install this on a c-series machine?  ZStyle seems to be the hiccup... when I try to install it on my c860, I\'m told that \"shepherd\" version is not supported.

Any way around this problem?  Would appreciate any help.

Most bluetooth CF cards, including Ambicom BT2000E are supported out of the box. You don\'t need to install any additional packages and/or edit any configuration files. Just insert the card and go to network setting to configure your bluetooth connection.

thanks for the quick, yet satisfying answers to my newbie questions!

Would anyone be kind enough to post success stories along with instructions on how to get the Ambicom BT2000E (rounded, solid black top) Bluetooth CF working with a fresh flashing of this ROM?  I\'m following the how-to instructions found on this site, with the non-preempt bluez ipk (not sure what is not being preempted, but the preempt package generates errors during install).

I seem to have the same difficulties as described in this post:

http://www.zaurususergroup.com/index.php?n...onfig+inquiring

Also, does anyone know a way to backup and restore wlan configurations (ssid\'s, WEP keys, etc) across rom flashes?

Finally, does anyone else have this problem with opera whereby \'g\' does not open up the \"open url\" dialog?  functionality was there in the 1.20 ROM

sorry if any of these questions don\'t belong in this topic; will move them if necessary.

thanks!
