Try using alsamixer from the command line.

It should download and extract them somewhere under /tmp, which is mounted as a tmpfs (in RAM).

I notice that /var is rebuilt everytime that the Z boots up. Is there a way of setting it perminatly to a directory on the sd card?

ssh -Y?
yes that works fine with openzaurus on a 3100 with dropbear.

Hentges uses openssh

I tried your method no dice
tenchi:~ darmou$ ssh -X collie /usr/bin/gpe-calculator
darmou@collie's password:

(gpe-calculator:3341): Gtk-WARNING **: cannot open display:

darmou

I thought it may be something to do with the sshd_config file because, when I echo display after using -Y

I get:

tenchi:~ darmou$ ssh -Y -l root collie
root@collie's password:
Warning: No xauth data; using fake authentication data for X11 forwarding.
Last login: Tue Jan  2 23:37:57 2007 from 10.1.1.34
root@collie:~# echo $DISPLAY

root@collie:~#

with the 3100  I get
localhost:10.0

which is correct:

I'm having problems with getting openssh with the latest snapshot of the hentges.rom to work with x forwading.

I use ssh -Y collie to get to my zaurus.

Here is my sshd_config file:

# OpenSSH is to specify options with their default value where
# possible, but leave them commented.  Uncommented options change a

Did anybody try to compile it for zaurus?

I'm interested in eventually getting the full Java SE working on X for either pdaXrom
or OpenZaurus.

I've changed the User agent string for Dillo 0.8.6 so that os news renders correctly for a PDA screen.  It may also affect other sites as well.

Where does this patch get sent to the OpenEmbedded bug tracker under enhancements?

Angstrom & OpenZaurus / Is Sound Enabled By Default On An Sl-c3200?
« on: December 05, 2006, 04:52:35 pm »

I'm using GPE 3.5.4.1 on an SL-C3200. I've used the Japanese ROM from openzaurus-ja.

Now I'm trying to play some mp3s or oggs and though they play in mplayer and xmms, there is no sound.

So I'd like to know whether the sound works out of the box on an SL-C3200 and thus that odds would be that the openzaurus-ja install would be messed up and I should reinstall.

Or do I need to install additional stuff to hear things on my SL-C3200?

Try using alsamixer and unmuting things.

Now that java is using the GPL, is anyone interested in porting java to openembedded?

Ok been testing out the phoneme package:

[a href=\"https://www.oesf.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=21995&hl=]https://www.oesf.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=21995&hl=[/url]

however when I try to run an example:
[root@spitz:/media/card/home/root] # cvm -cp democlasses.jar personal.DemoFrame java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: /usr/local/lib/libqtawt.so

I assume this is because i do'nt have libqt installed?

This post in the Sun java forum seems to confirm;

http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jspa?thre...68497&tstart=45

"I have found the reason of this error, that beacause I didn't set QT path
you must do follow of setting
export QTDIR=%QtInstallDir
export PATH=$QTDIR/bin:$PATH
export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$QTDIR/lib:$LD_LIBRARY_PATH"

Does anyone know which xqt packages I need to install from OpenEmbedded?

Angstrom & OpenZaurus / Why No More Ctrl Keys In 3.5.4?

I want to get a better keymap too. Perhaps BeKind and I can synchronize our work.

One question: where is there a reference for the names of control keys and for such stuff as cut, past, copy, pageup, etc?
[div align=\"right\"][a href=\"index.php?act=findpost&pid=139309\"][{POST_SNAPBACK}][/a][/div]

Here is my collie keymap the callendar key is now the control key:
to be stored in:
/etc/X11/collie.xmodmap

keycode 41 = F11
keycode 97 = F16
keycode 48 = F13
keycode 98 = F14
!keycode 117 = XF86PowerDown
keycode 42 = Escape
keycode 97 = telephone
keycode 48 = XF86Start
keycode 98 = XF86Mail

Hope this helps,

In order to encourage community participation, source code to the new iCal Server in Leopard Server is now available on Mac OS Forge under the Apache License.*

Looks like dhns will now be able to plug in to this new architecture and make it easier to do sync solutions.
