Just today I've bought a Socket Bluetooth card (revision H) and it works straight out of the box (openzaurus, kernel 2.6.16)

Één tip, gebruik geen universele adaptor, zo'n ding Er is namelijk ook een 2.5A-versie en dan kan ik me voorstellen dat je hem frituurt.

Een hoger vermogen van de lader zou niet moeten uitmaken. die 2,5A is de maximaal geleverde stroom, en als dat niet nodig is om de uitgang op 5V te houden zal dat die maximale stroom niet bereikt worden.

I try to install openzaurus.

And i've the message :

The gzip error sais it all. Probably you had a problem downloading the file, and you are missing a bit on the end.

Sharp ROMs / Cako 3000 Flash On A 3100

You don't want to use the flash as an extra swap-drive. Flash memory is limited in the number of times ik can be written. I know that with current flash this limitation is considerably different ( more writes possible). But stil i would not recommend it. In this case there is another reason why I would not recommend it. If the flash dies, you will have to repair the device, otherwise you cannot work with it (flash chip allso carries OS and diagnostics.

You could use extra flash for an extra home dir because write actions there tend to be less.

Running Cacko ROM for SL-C3000 (SLC3kKb1) since a couple of day's ago.

First flash of my device (flashing allway's makes me a bit worried). Everything seems to work fine. Some minor problems though:

1) USB mouse
Absolutely no problem. I've even found out that it is possible to use the right mouse button and the scroll button. GREAT!

2) USB Keyboard
USB Keyboard seems a bit buggy. Keymapping is not OK, but I guess that is due to changed mapping of the zaurus it's own keyboard. Initializing of the keyboard is not completely ok either. Sometimes it won't work (haven't found out a pattern).

3) SSH
SSH is standard on in cacko. This itself is no problem, but the absence of a password for the root account is a security problem. Maybe 2 extra lines in the readme?

3) Wlan Prism2
No problems. here. Got kismet running. WPA would be nice though.


Overall I think this is a very nice ROM for the zaurus. It's without a doubt better than the standard rom. Maybe later I will switch to a ROM that uses X for the GUI, but in the meantime this is very nice

I don't think it is really possible to buy a standard ATA to USB enclosure. Reason is, that these enclosures are build for use with an ATA harddisk, and they do more than just send and receive ATA-commands over USB.

It should however be possible to buy a USB CDRom drive. Depending on implementation, it should not be impossible for them to work out of the box (as a standard mass storage device).  I cannot really tell much about this however.

stomme bij Trisoft is alleen, dat geen rekeningnummer geven waar ik de vooruitbetaling kan doen (Zhalungsart: Vorkasse). Kijk ik verkeerd? Ik stuur zowiezo een email naar hun toe

Hallo Bram, dank voor de link. Kun jij me meer info geven over je bestelling daar?

Heb jij ook een lader die je direct in Nederland kan gebruiken? Zit deze al compleet bij de Zaurus (die ook de engelse taal heeft), of heb je die er los bij gekocht (welke lader heb je dan gekocht).

Hoeveel was je kwijt aan doanerechten en BTW?

Wat ik eigenlijk ook zou willen weten, wat is het typenummer van de lader? Dan kan ik de lader uit Duistland laten komen.

Hallo allemaal,

Ik zit nu al enige tijd te kijken naar een PDA ter vervanging van mijn huidige Casio E200. Een van de grootste nadelen nu is, dat ik op mijn Desktop computer voornamelijk linux gebruik, en syncen niet echt lekker loopt. Ook is het toetsenbord een gemis. Dus: een Sharp Zaurus C3000

Na een hoop zoeken ben ik dan op PriceJapan gekomen ( http://www.pricejapan.com/ ). Daar wordt de sharp zaurus aangeboden voor EUR 526.

Verder heb ik ook gekeken op Handheld Linux. Daar bieden ze een Lader aan voor europa (de EA70-S) ( http://www.handheld-linux.com/ ) ongeveer EUR 50.


1) Kopen bij pricejapan. Ervaring?
Waarschijnlijk wil ik de C3000 kopen bij pricejapan. De 19% BTW die nog bij de prijs komt ( voor de PDA hoef ik geen doanerechten te betalen) houdt het nog steeds ruim interessant om dit te doen. Ik heb echter geen ervaring met pricejapan. Ik vindt de website er enigzins simpel uitzien (ben zelf een webdevver bij grote webwinkel), en ik heb ook absoluut geen ervaring met paypal. Is dit veilig?

2) voeding voor Nederland.
Ik heb gezocht op internet, en ik heb gevonden dat er een voeding is die ik ook kan gebruiken in nederland (de EA70-S). Rottige echter dat ik dat ding niet bij pricejapan kan kopen, en dat, wanneer ik het bij dat duitse zaakje koop, dat ik dan ook nog eens EUR35,- aan creditcardkosten moet betalen. Is er iemand die een alternatief (voeding / winkel ) weet?

3) omzetten naar de Engelse taal. Ervaring?
Weet iemand of het erg moeilijk is om de [DEL]nederlandse[/DEL] engelse taal op dat apparaat te zetten? wat ik op internet gezien heb, lijkt het er op alsof ik gewoon een file van internet kan downloaden, en die kan laten gebruiken.



Is er iemand die mijn vragen kan beantwoorden en/of mij meer tips kan geven over dit onderwerp?
