Debian / Installing From Cf
« on: May 11, 2008, 08:37:14 am »
I have been trying to move on to debian as my zaurus has sat collecting dust, mostly because pdaxrom has slowed so much.  However, my SD slot is broken.

Is there any way to install from CF?  From what I gathered you have to install from SD?  I've tried to install and I get a kernel panic.

Thanks!

That's what I am hoping.  From what I understand they are basically the same except the 3200 was a different version of the motherboard?  Either way the SD slot should work

Ok, most of us around here have working zaurii....  However, I know some of you have duds just sitting around.  My z's sd slot is dead, which is kind of limiting.  I am looking to pick one up.  I emailed brett at conics awhile ago but I never got a final response.  The board just plugs into the mother board and is easily removed.  Anyone who is looking to part of this piece pleeeeease post.

Off Topic forum / What Laptop Do You Use, And Why?
« on: December 19, 2007, 12:39:10 pm »
I use a Dell c400 ultra portable.  I have a thing for small computers, what can I say?  It seems to be the trend amongst us zaurus users

I love this little beauty.  It's great for everything I need.  Sure it doesn't have a cd drive built in, but honestly, what I use it for on the run isn't going to need anything but a massive thumb drive

The only problem is that I don't have the dock and I can't install linux without pulling the HD and installing it on another machine.

Previous to this laptop I had a gateway 200 ultra portable.  The thing was a piece of crap.  I am really hard on my machines and this thing just couldn't take it.  Plus, you couldn't boot from the docking station, so I had issues installing ubuntu with the live cd system  My dell is amazing, really sturdy construction, nice case.  I love it.

Zaurus - pdaXrom / Pdaxrom Activity

For me, I would like to say that I am still a devout follower of the church of PDAX.  However, I am in many ways an end user.  I dabble a bit and I can figure my way around.  I know linux and prefer it over windows.  However, I don't program and all of my compliling experiences have ended up being miserable failures.  I read the forums daily but it got to the point where I felt bad asking questions because I give next to nothing to the community.

PDAX is not dying, it's just a slow point.  it happens with everything

Software / Quasar Media Player Released For Sharprom And Pdaxrom
« on: October 20, 2007, 11:31:11 am »
actually, after I posted this, I set up my c3200 in the car and quasar works beautifully as is.  I mean, bigger buttons would be neat, but I am toying with some other more....integrated ideas ...  Now if I could only bring myself to put the dremel to my beloved pt cruiser's dash haha

Thanks for all of your hard work!

Software / Quasar Media Player Released For Sharprom And Pdaxrom
« on: October 18, 2007, 04:50:16 pm »
First off, amazing.  I love the player.  I have been awaiting this anxiously since antikx announced it on his site neigh one year ago.

I have a feature request for future releases.  I would love to see the ability to switch to a gui with big buttons that control the simple functions of the player (ie next, back, volume, fastfwd, fastbkwd) much like the old sharp player.  So, theoretically, if I was using it as a car mp3 player I wouldn't really need to look at the screen, searching for a button... had too many accidents to know they aren't fun.

I really hope this doesn't come off as ungreatful, I think this player is awsome and I appreciate the time and work you have put into it.

Thanks!

I actually spilled oj right into the keyboard of my z.  I dried it right away, let it sit and it is fine with no ramifications.

You should be fine

Helloooo Mr. Danboid,
Just a heads up, I am currently using a logitech quickcam notebook deluxe.  Apparently it is supported by the driver, but I can't get it to work.  I know that most quickcams are supported  though.

Any chance that anyone could compile gqcam for the 2.6 kernel?  I am not sure if the old version would work for r121?
