Hi,

I just wanted to point out that I
had similiar issues when looking
at the SD card in all other machines
I tried.  I could read it with Windows XP,
Linux, and even a Pocket PC.  I was able to
read and write to it on all operating systems.

The key for me was a small hidden partition at
the beginning and end of the card.

How exactly is the USB drive partitioned?  I think the
Zaurus is rom is very particular about what is it
looking for.....

Hi,

I had a similiar problem with an SD card mounting.

You could do a search to find my post.  But what worked
was formatting a small section up front as blank, then the main portion
formatted as fat16.

Hi,

I just read this with great interest.  I have been watching threads looking for something like this.  Could you point me to a thread that describes what needs to be done to get this up and running?  I am a newbie and need something very basic....

thanks........

General Discussion / Zaurus Out Of Production?

I worry about the c1000's hinge becoming weak and damaged from repeated opening and closing.  I like the slab because aside from an impact to the screen, there are fewer mechnical parts to become damaged.

But don't get me wrong the c1000 is an awesome machine all the way around.........

I have a c1000 already so this would be a backup.  I always really liked the 6000l and its form factor........

Hi,

This may be off topic, if it is I am sorry.  I am glad to hear the Z is not dead.
I have a c1000 that is great.  And am considering getting another c1000 or 6000l.

Since this thread started I have been collecting a few apps I do not really need now but may need in the future.  I am doing this because I am afraid they may become difficult or impossible to find.  I really started doing this when zaurususergroup.org went down.  Any thoughts?

Again if this is off topic I am sorry......

Hi,

Thank you.  I am a newbie to Linux and did not know you could use wget to get a file that way.  I actually like that better than adding it to my feed list.  As I said above I like to have a copy of the original file somewhere just in case the feed disappears or I cannot find it.

thanks again

Hi,

thanks for the link.  I am having problems with it.  It lists the files but there is no ipk file.  I usually like to have the ipk file on my main computer as a backup incase I need it in the future.

Any help appreciated...........

Hi,

I am looking for a good vnc client/server for my Z with the Sharp ROM.

I have seen in previous posts that opie vnc and fb vnc are out there.

I have found the fb vnc server, but all the links to opie vnc are dead in the forum messages I have tried.  Could someone point me in the right direction.

Thanks..........

For Sale / Wanted / Fs - 2 Sl-5500s (1 Is Black ) And Maybe An Sl-6000

I thought about selling my SL-6000, but they do not seem to
be fetching enough for me to part with it.  And, I bought mine
used, and saved about $40 because it had a couple scratches on
the screen.

EDIT: I can't seem to find a way to delete this thread...

For Sale / Wanted / Zaurus Sl-6000 Up For Sale On Ebay -back Up Now!

ok kids... shut down by stolen accounts this time.  I'm told by ebay this is done to entice other bidders with 2nd chance spam emails.  If you bid on it, you're probably going to get one of these, and then one from Ebay explaining it. I'm really sorry to put you all through this. I was so mad at work today I had to leave to work this out. I've been on ebay live support chat for something like six hours today.

If ANYONE is still interested, it'll be relisted again with a new username in a few days. I just can't take this right now.  I'll add the new listing when it goes up.

If you bid on it, or have any interest in bidding on it, please post below here so I know real bidders exist.  I'm never going to use it again, and I really want it to go to someone who will use it.

thanks,

C1000/3x00 General discussions / Ambicom Bluetooth
« on: July 25, 2006, 08:34:19 pm »
Ok,

I solved my problem.

I downloaded the following ipks:

http://my-zaurus.narod.ru/bluetooth.html

www.oesf.org/forums/index.php?act=Attach&type=post&id=279

The problem was a combination of IP settings both on the XP system and the C1000.

I do not believe you can share a wifi connection on XP.  Atleast, I could not get Internet connection sharing to work with it.  I set up sharing on my wired card on the XP machine.  You may see a dialog for the internet connection sharing that allows you to choose which networks share the wired XP card.   If you do select the bluetooth network.  In my case it did not give me a choice.

I then went back to the Bluetooth network setting under network connections on the XP box.  I set a fixed IP address of 192.168.129.1, subnet mask of 255.255.255.0.  Then I went to the Zaurus network settings.  Select new network PAN-TCP/IP.  Go to IP settings and set IP address of 192.168.129.201, subnet mask 255.255.255.0. This is the key point in for me: gateway of 192.168.129.1 and first DNS of 192.168.129.1.  Both of these should match whatever IP address you set for the XP Bluetooth network.  Hit OK to get out of the network settings.  Hit Connect.  The globe in the tool bar should appear to be connecting.  I was prompted to accept the connection the XP box.  Fire up Netfront or you web browser of choice.....

..........Viola  .

Surfing away.

It is just as fast as my Wifi card in the same Zaurus.  I was really suprised.

I hope that helps someone.
