C1000/3x00 General discussions / Need A Drive Image Of A C3000
« on: September 27, 2008, 09:24:27 pm »
Hello. I have a damaged Zaurus. It will not enter any pre boot menu. Trust me on this one. It is totally impossible to use any key combo, prayer or mantra to get this sick f*cker to heal.

I have removed the 4g cf hard drive and put it in a OpenBSD laptop with the hopes
I can maybe use dd or something to get the hd in a cool state where I can boot without using
any pre boot menu.
I really really need this Z.
(My crappy job does not allow laptops, and I can feel my brain atrophy from lack of OpenBSD at my fingertips. without this Z
my day to day life at work bites serious, hardcore BORING ass.

Do you think, if I can get someone to dd their working hd I could dd it onto the disk, boot and be on my merry merry way?
I'm really reaching here.

Here is some info from the OpenBSD laptop with the zaurus hd inserted:

Hardware Mods / C3000 Dis/reassembly
« on: September 27, 2008, 12:28:26 pm »
I needed to take apart and remove the board from a Zaurus C3000 to solder something. There is  a copper foil piece .003 inch thick and about 1/4 inch wide  soldered to the board and somehow attached to the body next to the three wire battery terminals.
This I just pulled from the body and it slid out, allowing me to remove the board, flip it and solder the stuff I needed to.
Now, idiot me doesn't know how to replace this foil to the body. And lacking a schematic, or pictures that show the foil piece attached I'm kinda screwed.
Anyone either know what I'm talking about, or maybe know of pics or schematics I can use to un-screw up this operation?
Thanks.

Emile

C1000/3x00 General discussions / Zaurus Jtag Cable
« on: January 25, 2008, 10:59:07 pm »
Does anyone here have experience using a Jtag cable for fixing a bricked Zaurus?
I am interested in knowing where to get the 18 pin connector to make a jtag cable.

I have botched an upgrade to OpenBSD 4.2.
As it happens, I need to use my service menu to fix things.

I noticed when I bought this c3000 off of eBay that if I did not hold down D+B on powering up that this menu appears. It is totally unresponsive at this 1-4 menu in Japanese. I mean, no key works. I cannot select 1 2 3 or 4. I assume this is not normal as I read that at this menu you must select a number. But at that point I cannot do anything but reboot by taking out the battery and unplugging then replugging. Has anyone experienced this? All replys are welcome. I am bricked :-(
I miss my Zaurus a lot. Please help.

C1000/3x00 General discussions / Bought Sl-c3000 With No Install Cds
« on: August 29, 2006, 04:45:22 pm »
Hello. I am just getting up to speed with this item. After much googling, I am yet to find the appropriate usb drivers and software to sync the unit. Does anyone know of a download for the install cd? I am using xp on my desktop. My end goal is to install OpenBSD, or Debian on this.
Please forgive me if this topic has been addressed before here. Most answers I find require the install cds. I know there must be a solution for my situation. Any help is very much appreciated. Thank you. -Emile
