Zaurus - pdaXrom / Want To Try Pdaxrom But

Hello guys,

I have a stupid question, but i would like the answer before getting in pdaxrom.

I would like to try this distro, but i 'm afraid of the U-boot system (as it seems that it will overwrite sharp's emergency boot).

What is the way to go back to a 'factory' OS ? is there a link of a howto somewhere ?
does a NAND restore is just ok ?

Hello to all of you, Zaurus' users.

I would like to sell my c3000 (bought from PriceJapan), in France rather than possible.

So it's a c3000, in really mint condition, in its original box, with all accessories(jap manuals,CDs, ...).

I add :
- A Wifi cf Asus WL-110
- The remote CE-RH2 (no earphones, just the remote)
- An additional 220V power supply (US plug)
- An additional EA-BL08 battery.
- A 128 Mb SD Card.

Sharp ROMs / Cacko & Remote Ce-rh1 (solved)

Hello,

I tried several searches on the forum, but didn't find my answer.

I installed the last cacko (1.23 full), and I bought a CE-RH1 remote control for my c760

But now, it launches 'KINO2'   , instead of 'musicplayer' , like previously on sharp rom.

Can somebody tell me where I have to change the "key launcher" so that I can return on default method.

Does anybody try the fsck option from the menu ? (for c3000 only)
(for those who don't know :

Remove battery and reset
Replug battery
Hold OK button while pushing on button
PLUG ON THE AC POWER
Option 2
Sub option 2
)

This should reboot the system and make an fsck of your Microdrive


AFAIK, it makes an error (no ext3 partition   )

Thanks to my experience with the c3000, I realize now that I should have kept my c860 and wait for the c3100.

the 16mb flash seems, for everyone, to be a real constraint : Some distro won't be developped on it because it needs to much modifications.

Why PdaXrom (for instance) is already available on c1000 and not on c3000 ?
What about cacko ? (will be available on c1000/C3100) and not on c3000 as maslovski said today  

So now I know that I have the more expensive brick in the world.

My question is (like probably a lot of c3k owners ) : is it technically possible to upgrade the 16mb flash to 128 ?
If yes, so we can hope to have a C3100-like

At what price ?

Probably Trisoft/Streamline have an answer ?

Singapore/Malaysia / Zaurus Available In Singapore

I had the chance to go to Singapore for business last week.

I went to the Funan IT Mall (In the Center of Singapore).
I found a shop selling the SL5500 model (2nd floor if I remember)
In general, prices on electronics are not interesting (very surprising) : the SL5500 model was 399 SGD = 200 euro (~ 240 USD)

I was looking for the Amstrad emulator written in java and compiled for our Z.

But the link http://waltsir.free.fr/free/java-cpc_1.0_arm.ipk is broken.

Does somebody know where i can find it

C1000/3x00 Hardware / Vnc

Does anybody try VNC (server) with the C3000.

I tried it but have some troubles : it seems to freeze sometimes, or I can't launch applications.

If you managed to run it perfectly , what version of fbvncserver do you use ? (I tried the 0.9 with the special cxx addon)

OpenZaurus/Opie/Qtopia / Mounting Initrd.bin

Hello,

I recently purchased a C3k and as you know, there is no distribution available on it for the moment,
So , I would like to work a little by myself and wonder if it is possible to mount a initrd.bin file directly on a zaurus
I know (but not how) it is possible on a linux platform, but why wouldn't it be possible directly on the Z ?

C1000/3x00 Hardware / CE-RH1 doesn't work with C3k

The Remote controller CE-RH1 designed for SL-C7xx & 860 doesn't work with C3000.
Buttons are not working and the sound is very noisy.

I will try to go into the service menu in the 'remocon' item to see if there is a possibility to use it.

Too bad  I will have to sell the CE-RH1 that was very comfortable with my 860 and i will have to buy the CE-RH2 (more expensive)
Why did they change the system ?

Linux Issues / Qtopia Desktop and SL-C860 (or 7xx)

Does anybody manage to use Qtopia Desktop with an 860.

I tried with the 1.5.5 version but it doesn\'t work.
Does anybody try with the 1.7 Version ?
