Angstrom & OpenZaurus / New OZ and smbclient

I was just wondering if there is just the client end tools of the samba package somewhere. I checked the new OZ feed and noticed libsmbclient and the samba package. Yes I am being lazy I could have searched more and I could always play around and just get the tools to have space but I figured I would see if any of you nice folks knew offhand

6000 - Tosa / community and the 6000

Just a few questions for you guys. I was wondering how you all would feel if these situations came up.

If Sharp tries to start a Dev community for the 6000 will any of you join up?

If they try to start having a community for their 6000 do you think that they would bring back things for the 5x00? If they do would you try to join up with that as well?




I dont know if they will try to start something like that for the 6000. I dont think I would trust it if they did. I dont think they will bring back things 5x00 either and if I did it would probably be because they gave one @#$ed good excuse for it all.

OpenZaurus/Opie/Qtopia / OPIE/OZ development

Hello,

I\'m starting to look into development for OPIE/OZ. I have a sl-5500. I\'ve read through the dev guide that opie.handhelds.org links to. I was just wondering if anyone else knew of any information that would be useful.

Are there any programs that people would like to see or that need worked on or anything along those lines, so I could try to donate some time towards them. I\'m not the best at c++ I\'ve done only a bit of that and spent more time messing with perl code but hey I\'m still willing to donate time to help what I can. Also it just helps give me something to play with. I always feel better diving in on newer areas when I have a project at first...

Also while im here has anyone tried the opie sdk?

Does anyone use/check these boards? It seems like a lot of places the dev boards for the zaurus are rather quite or dead. Maybe I\'m just looking at the wrong places....

I was just wondering if anyone else felt like we should merge some of the boards together. It seems like some arent used that much. Also I would think there would be benifits to not having so many boards with a smaller community.

General Discussion / Flashing specifics

Hello,

Was wondering if any of you out there were familer with the process that goes on when you flash the ROM. I couldnt find anything out there and was interested in it. Just pointing me in the right direction on where to look would be wonderful. I currently have a SL-5500. Also when/if I piece this together and there seems to be a need/interest (and one isnt already out there) I will write or put together a guide so others can know how its done.

Just wanted to say hello to everyone. I\'m going to start harassing you all with post on this board.

I\'ve wanted a zaurus since I first heard about them quite a while ago. However I didnt have the money and then I just didnt have a need for one. Now I have a little extra money and one would really help with some of my classes in school so I figured I would get one. A friend of mine just got a zaurus sl-5500. After reading about it I think I might do the same. Looking into getting either a new or used zaurus with or without extras so wish me luck on that.

After I get one I figured I would start trying to code some different applications on it. Would be fun, help out the community and it would help give me a chance to play since I havent really played on any devices like this before.


Anyways i\'ll hush now and let you all get back to what you were doing...
