General Discussion / not feelin\' the love with TKC
« on: March 12, 2004, 08:24:08 pm »
Since kino2 didn\'t seem to work correctly and reading multiple posts praising the tkcvideo product, I decided to break out the wallet and give it a try.

video skips, blurred colors, sound out of sync

I drop an email to see if I have any options and my reply is \"we don\'t support our products on non-Sharp roms\", which I didn\'t see anywhere on the website.

any suggestions?

Software / kino2 issue?
« on: March 08, 2004, 01:04:24 pm »
Hi all,

I installed the new cacko rom and while playing avi\'s, I am noticing two things:

1.  the sound is not syncing up with the picture
2.  the picture is skipping throught the video

previous to this new rom, I had the original sharp rom installed and the videos were fine.  Please give me some ideas as to where to look.

thanks.

Software / kino2 expectations
« on: March 05, 2004, 10:47:29 pm »
Let me just start by saying that I can now safely remove my office chair from my arse because my 1st exposure to flasing a ROM on this expensive 860 went like a charm.  Throughout the whole process, and especially when I was required to hit enter on the the \'option 5 repartion rom\' section, my chair kept getting sucked up further and further for fear of making a brick out of my new toy.
I want to express my sincerest gratitude for the newly released (twice) CAKO rom.  Many thanks to all involved in that process.  Even though my 860 was translated (mostly), all those empty blocks were driving me nuts!I feel like I have now earned the right to place my \"signature\" on my posts regarding my hardware!

Now that I have exposed my \'newbiness\'.. a question.   I don\'t know what expectations I should have on viewing AVI files using the \'kino2\' player.   I have some avi files that I have transferred to the Z and the picture is skipping quite a bit.   Prior to flashing the new ROM, my standard ROM was able to play the same avi without skipping.   I have tried to change some the available setting on the \"core\" and \"video\" tab to no avail.  Could someone give me some guidelines on where to look.

many thanks

General Discussion / export Japanese Dictionary
« on: March 04, 2004, 10:01:17 pm »
Again I come to Z land with a question.

In my attempt to read EVERYTHING that I could find concerning the 860 prior to my purchase, I had ran across a site that was explaining how to export the included Japanese/English conversion library off to a CF.   Now that I am thinking of loading up a new ROM, I wanted to back it up, in case I ever wanted to learn Japanese some day 8) . Could someone post a link to do this procedure to tell me that I\'m crazy and there are betting things out there than the default build.

thanks again.
