Zaurus - pdaXrom / Can Someone Compile This?
« on: February 26, 2006, 04:17:28 pm »
I just don't have the expertise to compile this:

http://sourceforge.net/projects/sagcad

Has some nice features and looks good but somehow I just can't seem to get it to compile into a program.

Cxx0 Hardware / C760 Charging Problem
« on: December 29, 2005, 09:42:53 pm »
My Z took to NOT charging.  Sometimes the charge light would be on and sometimes not, either way battery would not charge in C760.  Same battery would charge in 5500 after cutting nose off to do a charge test.  After MUCH looking I found that power connection on C760 was very slightly loose on the inside back.  Tacking case apart I found that the inside lead on the back of the connector was not solidered in very well and the solider had come loose from the wire.  This could only be seen on the underside of the board (held in place by four black flat head screws on my unit) as that is the side which is solidered.  Used SMALL iron and a VERY TINY amount of additional solider and my C760 now works JUST LIKE NEW.  This post is just a hint of direction for others who can pinpoint that they have the same problem however BE VERY CAREFUL if you attempt the same fix as these boards are VERY easily damaged with either too much HEAT or SOLIDER, use care and proceed AT YOUR OWN RISK.

Does anyone know if compiling with the Live CD creates arm programs by default or do we have to do something special?

Zaurus - pdaXrom / Roadmap For Pdaxrom
« on: December 07, 2004, 12:35:07 pm »
I have a Zip file with roadmap and flite software which will work!  Pascal Martin compiled this for us to share, maybe someone could make it into a ipk.  It is just under 4 meg. which is too large to attach here.  Does someone have a place I can send it for others to download?  This is for maps of USA only, same maps as the Qtopia version that was on the Sharp site last year.  Screen rotation works, etc.  It is missing two icon in the gps status module but still works.  When we have a site to share from just unzip and copy the files into the same directory on your Zaurus, (make the directories if they are not there).  I have only used this with a CF GPS.

Zaurus - pdaXrom / Software request
« on: October 14, 2004, 06:09:11 pm »
Could somebody re-compile the patience /  solitare game we once had for the new RC5 rom.   It has not worked since RC3 came out.  I played that often when I had to wait somewhere for a appointment.

Thanks,
Jim

Zaurus - pdaXrom / Roadmap 1.0.6
« on: June 25, 2004, 08:57:49 am »
I would like to have roadmap on X11 if possible and I think that this link is for a X11 Familiar verison but it will not install with the package manager.  This version will look to a SD or CF card for its map files.

Roadmap download site

I am not able to break a ipk down on my system to get at the files so any help would be appreciated!

Zaurus - pdaXrom / Bible search program -- Micros
« on: June 17, 2004, 12:07:08 pm »
http://www.handhelds.org/z/wiki/micros

This is for the ipac running linux/x11 but if untarred in a directory in your path and made executable will run with the command \"./micros\";   after program starts pull down the view menu and select web to get a bible.  That is as far as I have got into this program other than basic operation.  Will try other bibles and books when I have time and report then.

Accessories / Car power supply for C760
« on: May 28, 2004, 12:00:52 pm »
Has anyone had any luck using a car power supply with a C760.  The ones I were (am) using with my 5500 do NOT work with my C760,  even the 5500 AC adapter will not work with my C760.  It will not power on and the battery light blinks even with a full battery when any of these are plugged in.  Unplug the adapter and it works again.  Search produced no results.

Zaurus - pdaXrom / Package manager fails to install apps
« on: March 11, 2004, 09:50:50 am »
:?: I seem to not be able to install anymore apps to my 760.  First install of the rom did not allow enough apps to get a scroll bar in package manager.  Reinstalled rom and could do more than first time but still not all I want.  /home is only 2% used according to df -h in terminal.  Any clues?

Sharp ROMs / Power button on 760 with latest Cacko-Qtopia rom
« on: January 05, 2004, 12:51:37 pm »
I used 1.17 and 1.18 without to many problems.  Have a backup from both.  When I flash to the newest Cacko-Qtopia rom my power button on the side (Back) of the 760 works.  After restore of either backup the power button and the shutdown commands no longer work.  HOW CAN I RESTORE AND STILL KEEP THE POWER BUTTON WORKING?  I suspect that a file is getting over written that shouldn\'t.

PS  If I go back to 1.17 or 1.18 everything is fine.

Thanks Jim

Zaurus - pdaXrom / Packages which require ROX-lib
« on: December 19, 2003, 05:27:12 pm »
:?: I have installed the packages in X11 that require the ROX-lib to run.  I followed all of the dependences but none will start.  I find that the ROX-lib provided is shown to be ver. 1.9.11 and I get a message that ROX-lib2 is needed.  I don\'t see this package in the feed.  Can anyone provide a solution?

Thanks in advance
Jim
