Zaurus - pdaXrom / ANN: Mplayer 1.0pre5
« on: November 08, 2004, 02:12:58 pm »
MPlayer is a movie player for Linux (runs on many other Unices, and non-x86 CPUs, see the documentation). It plays most MPEG, VOB, AVI, Ogg/OGM, VIVO, ASF/WMA/WMV, QT/MOV/MP4, FLI, RM, NuppelVideo, YUV4MPEG, FILM, RoQ, PVA files, supported by many native, XAnim, and Win32 DLL codecs. You can watch VideoCD, SVCD, DVD, 3ivx, DivX 3/4/5 and even WMV movies, too (without the avifile library).

Zaurus - pdaXrom / ANN: vdesk
« on: November 08, 2004, 01:57:33 pm »
vdesk gives users of minimal wm's (fluxbox, pekwm, windowmaker...) icons on their desktop. The icon graphics are either from a png or svg (vector) file and support some eyecandy effects like transparency. Each icon can be confgured to run one or more shell commands and the actions which run those commands are completely configurable. In a nutshell if you want icons on your desktop and you don't have or dont't want KDE or gnome doing it, you can use vdesk.

Zaurus - pdaXrom / ANN: Torsmo
« on: November 08, 2004, 01:53:42 pm »
What is Torsmo?
Torsmo is a system monitor that sits in the corner of your desktop. It's very simple, customizable and it renders only text on the desktop (and percentagebars if you want it to  and the only lib it uses is Xlib.

Zaurus - pdaXrom / Socket Bluetooth Card (again...)
« on: November 06, 2004, 06:30:33 am »
Guys,

I discovered that something has changed in the new RC's: the file /etc/pcmcia/serial is changed. So I can't get my Socket Bluetooth Card (rev. G) to work. This file refers to /usr/sbin/hciattach, which doesn't exist. The file is now in /sbin. Also, if I correct this, and I insert the card, it starts the file "serial start blablabla", but then hangs. If I kill serial, and eject my card, the file "serial stop blablabla" hangs...

Somebody can correct this?

Zaurus - pdaXrom / Mplayer w100 api files needed...
« on: August 17, 2004, 05:57:43 pm »
Hello everybody, I'm trying to compile Xine with vidix support. Therefore, I need the original w100api.h driver. I already have w100_vid.c and w100fake_api.h, but there must be more files on this earth... Documentation or tips are welcome too!

I'm also searching for the included vidix.h file, the original. Please mail me or post the files!

I already have compiled Xine without vidix support, but it doesn't run smooth fullscreen. Windowed it plays very well! See this screenshot:

Zaurus - pdaXrom / FVWM compiled!
« on: August 15, 2004, 07:13:19 pm »
Recently I uploaded some libraries. They were all libraries for FVWM. Now I have FVWM compiled with all the newest patches. It works like a charm! FVWM is highly configurable, and it's fast (the fastest WM I've ever used, I use it on my Zaurus and my desktop).

I wasn't able to upload the IPK in the feed of pdaXrom, so I uploaded the files on my own website. The address: http://zaurus.xerys.nl.

Have fun!
