General Discussion / Sprint PCS Compact Flash CF 2031 Wireless Card
« on: September 15, 2004, 04:57:01 pm »
I am wondering about getting this card, Sprint PCS Compact Flash CF 2031 Wireless Card, to access Sprint Wireless Internet and to use the Zaurus as a phone.  Does anyone know if this card will work on the SL-5600 and if it will work on the SL-6000?  With voice on both.  I am wondering about getting the SL-6000, for multiple reasons.

Sharp ROMs / Format : Mantance Menu
« on: September 13, 2004, 03:55:19 am »
I have installed and unstalled a few programs, and I am thinking they have left behind files that are no longer need.  And I want to free up this space.

I am wondering what will happen if I do the Format under the Mantance Menu you can get after rebooting.  If I format can I boot again to do an upgrade from the same menu?

Sharp ROMs / Export & Import PIM in XML or CSV
« on: September 11, 2004, 02:48:15 am »
Does anyone know of a program that exports & imports PIM information into/from XML or CSV?  I tried to use Sharp ROM Backup/Restore program.  It exported the data in an un-known format.  I am hoping there is another program that exports/imports PIM data.  Anyone knows of any?

OpenZaurus/Opie/Qtopia / OPIE 1.0.3 on Sharp ROM SL-5600
« on: September 11, 2004, 01:18:38 am »
I am wondering about installing OPIE on my SL-5600 with the Sharp ROM ver 1.32c.  This website mentions a Sharp ROM feed for opie 1.0.3 http://opie.handhelds.org/cgi-bin/moin.cgi/Feed.  Does installing opie on the Sharp ROM replace Sharps QT?  How much space does opie 1.0.3 take?  Does the PIM work, it did not work for me using OZ 3.3.6-pre1?  Has anyone else tried to install opie on SL-5600 Sharp ROM?  Any suggestions?

General Discussion / Which Linux system for my Zaurus
« on: September 10, 2004, 09:09:43 pm »
I am starting to use my zaurus SL-5600 agian.  One decion I want to make intelligently is which linux "distro" to use.  I know of two for SL-5600 OpenZaurus and Sharp ROM.  I am wondering if there are any other distros out there in web space for the SL-5600 that others use, and why you like them.  Before I start entering a lot of data into the unit.

Thanks in advance.

Angstrom & OpenZaurus / PIM
« on: September 10, 2004, 08:59:54 pm »
I have installed OZ 3.3.6-pre1 on my SL-5600 and have noticed a few odities.  The major one I am worride about is that when I try to add things ot calandar or contacts and then exit these programs tell me that there is not enuf space to save the changes.

Is there a way to fix this problem?  I would prefer to use OZ, but I need to do what I need to do.

Software / How to edit a large text file?
« on: September 10, 2004, 02:17:53 am »
I have SL-5600, and I have a large text file, current size is 4.5MB, I want to edit on the Zaurus.  I don't care if the system is sharp ROM or OpenZaurus or a debian flavor.   Is there such a program out there.  I know there are programs to read large text files, I am wondering if there are any to edit large text files.  Thanks in advance.
