Hardware Mods / Modding Power Button
« on: February 15, 2008, 06:52:13 pm »
Hiya,

I have a SL-6000 that works great except it has a sticky power button. If I shut down using the OS, after a few minutes the screen will pop back awake because the power button hit something that made my Zaurus turn on. Once I've got it on and I'm using it, that power button might decide to stick again and turn the power off again. I would like to remove the power button so it doesn't interfere with using the software to turn the Zaurus on and off. Can anyone recommend how to do this, and if there are any safety issues?

Thanks,

6000 - Tosa / Sticky Power Button
« on: January 10, 2008, 08:47:00 pm »
After several years of use, my power button on my Zaurus has become sticky and won't rest in an on or off position. Is there some way I can fix this? It works fine otherwise.

Is it possible to use Intellisync to link with Outlook Express, rather than various versions of the full Outlook program?

ELSI General Discussion / I Like Elsi
« on: September 27, 2005, 04:12:51 pm »
I like ELSI.   I haven't been involved in discussing it much but I wanted to say thank you to whoever put it together. If you plan to continue developing it, I would like to be able to sort listings within categories. By data and by ROM would be very useful. Thanks!

Security and Networking / Please Help With Built-in Wifi Problem
« on: August 19, 2005, 12:22:46 am »
I've been using my built-in wifi for months and suddenly it won't work. The network program gets stuck when it's opening, I've lost the network applet, and I don't know whether I have a hardware or software problem. I've tried resetting and hard resetting, also check error menu. I've thought about reformatting but I'm not sure it would help. Does anyone have any suggestions that could help me identify the problem, or else fix it?

6000 - Tosa / Configuring Qtella
« on: May 01, 2005, 11:46:37 am »
I recently got kismet working on my 6000, which made me very excited because my linux expertise is not that high. I credit the great information available on this forum and on the wiki.

I'm experimenting with other network clients and I thought I would try Qtella. Ran into a connection problem and searching through google and on this site did not result in any answers. Could anyone assist me? I'm wondering if it's a port issue or possibly a lib issue.

Has anyone had luck with this ap?

Thanks,

User Request for Applications / Bug Fix For Gutenbrowser
« on: March 22, 2005, 07:56:16 pm »
I know this has been posted here and it's listed as an open bug at SourceForge, but I wanted to reiterate that there is a bug in Gutenbrowser on the Zaurus. If anyone has the ability and the inclination to fix it, I'd be so grateful!

Security and Networking / Mac Addressing Question
« on: January 09, 2005, 01:45:07 pm »
I'm trying to use MAC addressing for the first time to secure a wireless network for my Zaurus 6000 and two computers. I have the MAC address for the Z and my computers, but I notice that my Linksys router has a MAC address assigned to it marked "LAN" and there is a separate one marked "Internet." Do I need to include those addresses when I list the addresses I want to filter? I'm sorry if this is a basic question, however, I could not find anything about it in the router support documents. Thanks!

Has anyone tried using Azure or any other blogging tools on the Zaurus?
