Zaurus - pdaXrom / Should I Use R197 On C860

Hi all, it's been around 9 months since I have looked at the forums and I wanted to know if r197 is stable/any better than beta1 on the C860?

I have my Z running ok now but if r197 is better I will try the upgrade.

Zaurus - pdaXrom / Fvwm and kathrin-rc3

Hello,

I am trying to use Fvwm with rc3 but my mouse will only work on the title bar of windows. When I try to press any tabs, buttons or text boxes there is no response.
This is a pointer/focus problem I think, I can move through the tabs/buttons with the keyboard.

Any ideas?

Zaurus - pdaXrom / Set up normal user, startx says it cannot run.

Hello,

I added a normal user, logged in as user, then did startx which said it couldn't run without root permissions.
Do I need to do something special to add a user, with gui access etc?

Zaurus - pdaXrom / Software installed on SD disappears after reboot.

Hello

I am running pdaxrom on C860, I have installed lots of software to SD,  This works fine for days or weeks at a time.  But sometimes after a reboot programs complain about missing dependencies, all files are still there but not seen.  I can see them in the file manager.

Does anyone know a solution to this, without reinstalling everything?

I did a search but didn't get anything like this.

Zaurus - pdaXrom / Script to automate kopi rsync with desktop linux?

Hello all,
Does anyone have a script for automating rsync with a destop linux box, in particular for use with KoPi?
I run Linux everywhere™ [don't know who, maybe me!  ] but am not experienced with scripting/programming.
I am using C860 <-> Mandrake10.
I have networking set up with my Lan, can ssh/vnc etc. between all machines.

Hello, I have just received my new C860 from PriceJapan.com.

If you are considering getting one then I can highly recommend using PriceJapan.com, all emails were answered promptly and delivery time was superb.

I ordered on Friday, the C860 was sent on Saturday and arrived at my door on Tuesday morning!
I had to pay import tax at around 15%, although Kaneda had put a 'very reasonable' valuation of the goods on the customs declaration  
The total price including tax and delivery was £385 (GBP).

If only the USB/charge lead and car adapter would arrive soon.......not from PriceJapan by the way.

Angstrom & OpenZaurus / oz3.3.6pre1+opie1.1.4 wireless encryption settings

Hello, I am running oz3.3.6pre1+opie1.1.4 and would like to know how to set an encrytion key for wlan0.
Is there a gui setting or do I need to edit a file?

Linux Issues / Sync sl5500 OpenZaurus 3.3.5 and QtopiaDesktop 1.7

After following lots of instructions to sync my Z with QtopiaDesktop I finally got it working.

My Z is running OpenZaurus 3.3.5.
I have set up a usb connection with my Mandrake 9.2 box and turned on IP forwarding as described in many howtos. I installed QtopiaDesktop 1.7 from the Redhat rpm.

I started QDesktop but the sync menu was unavailable. I had the Z in the cradle and connected to the Mandrake box.

I opend Settings/Security and then the Sync tab.
The setting appeared correct at 192.168.129.0/24 but I tried the \'Any\' setting.

On closing the Security app the Z asked me whether to accept the Sync request from my Mandrake box.

I said yes and have had sync ever since!
