Sharp ROMs / Nokia N70 (symbian S60) Gprs Bt Connection

Hi All,
I had set up a GPRS connection using the cacko network wizard in the past with success.
but Now , the internet connection using GPRS does'nt work with my brand new Nokia N70. It is a Symbian S60 smartphone serie.

The old parameter (for a siemens S55) was :
ACCOUNT
Name : whatever you want
username & password : orange
phone :*99***1#
MODEM
BT device : /dev/rfcomm0
init string : AT+CGDCONT=1,"IP","orange.fr"
spedd : 115200, hardware ctrl checked
NETWORK
everything checked expect window pppp
PROXIES
no proxies
BLUETOOTH
auto configure with the search and set button.
it was the channel 1 for the siemens.

Now i just change the BT tab, with the same search and set function. the channel used for the dun connection is the 3. nothing else changed.

When i want to set up the connection, the phone ask for th BT code of the zaurus, ask if i want to allow connection from the zaurus. at the same time, the zaurus is stop at the initialiation step.
then after a while : both z and the phone disconnect the bt link. the Z was unable to connect to the internet using the phone.

The only changes are on the BT Tab of the setup, as the other are not suppose to be associated to the phone (it is more linked to the GSM network).  

On the other hand, i am able to send and receive files between The phone and the Z.

Help. the main interest of this phone is a 3G and EDGE ip connection.

This CF BT Card is like the belkin. It is identified as a "dell truemobile 300" with the cacko rom 1.23.

Works like a charm.

Security and Networking / Keypebble With No Regular Port Number

i'm unable to connect to my server. i set set up the port number to 54098.
if i try to connect to this vnc server, i have a "host not found".  error message.
obviously, it works fine from my laptop.
so where to set up the the server port number!
i tried
IP:PortNumber
IP::PortNumber
IP@PortNumber

none of them work.

How to get more free memory (storage) with a C1000. I have already sym linked most of my soft and fonts and libs, and i reached a maximum of 35MB free in the home partition, how to get more free memory?

PS : all that to try to install Thundirdbird (so X/Qt), after X/QT installed (meanie's site process) i get 25Mo free, but ipkg failed to install it.

Hi all,

The Wifi card is working well with kismet and my hotel wifi connection (40bit Web Key) but i'm not able to be connected to my Office Wifi Network.
The office ESSID is with a space (like "john doe") and the WEP key is 26 characters long (so i suppose it is a 128b encryption key.
I have created a new connection with the sharp tool (so "johndoe" without the space, and the key, network type 'infrastructure', DHCP and DNS automatic, WEP key 'Open System', then modify the :

a -/home/zaurus/Applications/Network/modules/WLANx.conf to add the space to the ESSID
b - /etc/pcmcia/wlan-ng.opts to add the space to the ESSID too

But it is not working, the card led flash during the initialisation process.
I have then modifie the syslogd conf (*.*) file and run a tail -f /var/log/message

means something is wrong ??

I have tried to put 20 instead of 10 in the timeout parameter of the WLANx.conf file, but no success. Same stuff each time i try to connect this network. I realy need to be connected at the office but i didn't know what to try now, an idea? i'm lost

I have a Z C1000, and use the regular Sharp Rom in english.

Note : my laptop is connected to this network and there is no MAC adress filtering (some people came sometimes for one day only and are able to use this network without trouble)

C1000/3x00 Hardware / Unicode System Font

The default font for the sytem is "ldfont" in the C1000. Sharp PIM and texte editor use this font and i want to be able to use the accentuated characters (mainly for the mail soft) . i have tried to backup lcfont and create symbolic links with the verdana font, but there is a issue when the screen is rotated ...

is there a unicode font that match the lcfont characteristic (same size avaible, rotation ok, ...)

Accessories / 2 Partitions In A Sd Card ?

hi,
i just want to know if it is possible to have 2 different partitions on a 1g sd card ?

I try with mine, i successfully build an ext2 partition of about 700mb but when i want to create an extended fat16 partition, fdisk refuse .. the partition could not be formatted ... maybe an sd is not supposed to have more than one partition ?

Hi every one

I have my fabulous C1000 since 4 days now :-) ! It is with the sharp rom in english.
 
Today i received my 1G SD Card (PQI) from newegg, but when i put it in the Z, nothing happen :-((.

i decide to reboot -> yes, the SD card is here !! so, I created a 720 MB partition, as described here, everything was good.

Then, i remove the sd card, and plug it back ... nothing happen one more time ...

dmesg said (a long list of ):

pxa_sd_wait_id_response: responce time out (cmd=01 MMC_STAT=0x2142)

by searching in this forum, i have found this thread : https://www.oesf.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=9366

seems same that my pb, but the card is brand new...

why not, let's try this, so i tried to remove the mtab and type 'ln -s /proc/mounts /etc/mtab' and obviouly, mister murphy was around and i have typed 'rm /etc/fstab' instead of 'rm /etc/mtab'...(i was playing with fstab just before to try to find something)

So, my first question : help, is there someone that can send me the regular fstab from a C1000

2nd question : I have rebooted the Zaurus, and now i can see the SD icon, and can access to the SD Card (i can only write as root, not as zaurus, but it is another issues, no?). if i unplug the card and put it back : same messages (no icon, no access to the card).

The SD card seems to be recognized only at boot ? is it a bad SD card or the problem came from an other part ?? did i need to change the SD card ? thanks

PS : After reboot without fstab, everything seems to work...

update : I have the sd card plugged in since yesterday. no pb. Even after a suspend and resume. I didn't try to remove it yet. i have done a backup, seems fine.
