Gemini PDA - Android / Assistant shortcuts not working

When I first got the Gemini, both the silver button and the Fn+Space shortcut, activated the Assistant. Somewhere along the line, they both stopped working. I can still call up the Assistant through Gemini Voice Assistant, just not the button or the keyboard shortcut. Quite willing to believe that I have misconfigured something, but what?
