I have a C1000 in perfect shape for sale.
Currently the unit has a screen protector on it.
this unit is 20 months old, was bought brand new as a gift.

• Factory CD
• Factory AC adapter, and compatible US/CAN 120V adapter
• USB to Ethernet adapter
• USB host cable
• Ambicom WiFi Card
• PD Air Case with 2 SD card slots
• Screen cloth
• Will also give 2 SD cards , 256M and a 2G, ( I used the 256 for firmware updates and 2G for general usage)
• The factory box
• Some other small bits and bites

Zaurus - pdaXrom / Flashing From R198 To Pdaxii13

Hi all,

Firstly Happy New Year to all!!

I have spent a lot of time trying to get my wireless working under r198.  So far I have had no luck.
Due to it not working my Z is just sitting there for months and months, I will admit that I almost desided to replace it.
I have however decided to keep it, re-flash it to something else that I should be able to get it working under the older version.
I can't seem to find any info on how to flash it back.
I believe that I will have to take back to factory then work my way to whatever ver I want.
Anyway, if someone can point down the right path I would very gratful.

Zaurus - pdaXrom / Wireless Not Working At All :(

Hi all,

I am running R198 SP8 on a C1000.
I have 2 wireless cards. The ambicom 1100 card and the symbol spectrum card.

At this point the Ambicom cards light flashes and that’s it. I have to bring up the wlan0 interface to get it to be seen with ifconfig.

I can't get the Symbol card to do anything. I have found and put the files in the correct spot as posted here but still no go.

I have the latest wifi radar and all the goodies.
I don't use the unit all that much because I don't have any access. I would love to be able to scan for wireless networks and then log into which one I can or have access too.
I run WPA at home and would love to get it going on that as I am sure more users would.
If my cards are too old then I would like to upgrade the firmware if I have to so long as someone lets me know how and where I can get the firmware.

If I have to will be go out and buy a brand-new card if someone can let me know which card is the best for scanning and WPA etc.

Sorry for this being long but I really want to get it up and running and finally in a state that allows me to use it and enjoy it.

Zaurus - pdaXrom / Working Cards With Wpa And Rc121

Hi all,

I am unable at this point to get my Ambicom card to with with RC121 and use it on my WPA-PSK setup.
I have read that a few people have gotten some other cards to work.
I know that my firmware on my card is old. 1.34 and I need  much newer firmware but I can't update it, no luck.
So if someone could update my card for me or I'll buy a card that should work.

Can anyone recommend a card that will work with RC121 and WPA-PSK.

Zaurus - pdaXrom / 1.1.0r121 Final Config

Hi all,

I have reinstalled r121 from scratch and so far I have many things working that I had troubles with before.
I do have some issues that I would like to get fixed, I have looked the site up and down for the answers but no luck.
One thing is I would like to get keyboard mapping corrected.
The zoom, brightness don't work long with some other buttons all of which have been mentioned before.
The other is that the CPU over clocking doesn't stay if you suspend. My time is ok if I suspend that issue I don't have.
The volume is very very low and it's set to max.
The other big issue is that I would like to get my ambicom card ( WPA-PSK )working, right now I use my symbol card.

Zaurus - pdaXrom / Strange Usb Install Issue

Hi all,

I am trying to get the USB drivers installed on my WinXP system and it doesn't like the drivers from the C1000 CD.
I know I have done this before with my old laptop but I am reinstalling it on my new one but no go. The only diff on the Z side is that I am now running pdaXrom 1.1.0r121.
Is there a new process or drivers needed cause of the new rom?

Zaurus - pdaXrom / Upgrading Old Ambicom Card

Hi all,

I have an old Ambicom card which is running 1.34 and I'd like to upgrade it to at 1.82.
I am running PdXrom 1.1.0.121 on a C1000.
I would like to get it connected to my WPA network.
I have found info on upgrading my card but the info doesn't go as far back as the version that it on my card. I just want to make sure that I can even upgrade it that much, or if there is something special that I have to do.

Zaurus - pdaXrom / Beta4 And Ambicom Wifi Issue C1000

Hi all,

I just installed Beta 4, which went perfectly well, no issues.
I have an Ambicom 802.11b card which is recognized by the system and comes up as:
WL1100C 302.11B CF-Card 2.2

The card light flashed on and off as if it is searching, just like it did with other roms.
It doesn't link to any network. I have tried 3 different networks and nothing.
2 of them are open networks and one is wep.

I ran dmesg and I get the following when I insert the card.

I also have a symbol card but that doesn't even light up with beta4 so that is why I am trying to get this one working.

Once I get this working I want to get it attached to my WAP network but that is for another day.

Zaurus - pdaXrom / Browser For Pdaxrom

I am looking for a different browser for pdaXrom. I can't stand the one it comes with, no frames or java.
I need one that supports both of these.

Any suggestions and where to do I get it?

General Discussion / Not Sure Which To Buy?

Hi,

I am looking to purchase one of the C series Zuarus units.
One of the main things I'd like to get into is using the unit for GPS purposes.
I'd like to have the unit in my car as I drive etc...
I live in Toronto Canada which I think may make it hard to find maps.
firstly, Would I be able to get the unit to work as a GPS with Canadian maps?
Secondly, Should I get the 3100 for it's disk space or could I get away with a 1000 as it is cheaper.
I'd like to use the unit for other things as well such as a normal PDA, wireless laptop at home and one day maybe a GSM phone if possible but not that important.
Anyway, some help here would be great.

General Discussion / Looking To Buy A C1000 But I Have A Few Questions.

Hi,

I am looking to buy a C1000. The two main things for me are that it works on a wireless lan ( as fast as possible ) using WPA TKIP security.
I also wish to use the unit with a GPS card and Canadian maps.

Are there any issues with either of these?
If so, how would I go about getting them to work if it's possible.

I am not new to the Linux world but I am new to the Zaurus world.

Any help would be great.
