Software / Db.* (open Source Embedded Db) Avail For Arm Linux
« on: March 03, 2005, 01:33:06 am »
From article at http://www.linuxdevices.com/news/NS9892138016.html:
"ITTIA has ported an embeddable, open source, C-language database to ARM Linux, and is inviting developers who write code for Linux on ARM to join a user support community..."

"The db.* database, a small-footprint C-language database, was first released by Raima in the 1980s as dbvista..."

Off Topic forum / Twenty New Linux Cellphones On The Way
« on: February 15, 2005, 01:20:45 am »
Surprised nobody has mentioned it yet...

Excerpt from the article: "Trolltech announced today that more than fifty companies are currently developing or shipping Linux-based devices using its Qtopia graphical application platform software, including more than twenty mobile phones."

I haven't been online for a few days & sat down to read all the new msgs since the last time I logged in.  I went into the first forum with unread messages, read a couple of posts, posted one reply, then used the "Mark this forum as read" selection at the top of the page.  The software returned me to the forum index; however, all of the forums were now marked as being read and the "last login time" read as "today".  When I go into the individual forums, they still correctly show which messages are new, so it isn't a total loss, but I miss the convenience of seeing at a glance in the index which forums I should read.

Off Topic forum / Empower Linux PDA with cellphone add-on announced
« on: October 27, 2004, 02:50:15 pm »
For what it's worth, I just saw this announcement...
http://www.linuxdevices.com/cgi-bin/printe...id=NS2665482526

It mentions a QWERTY keyboard, but none is shown.  Also, appears to have only SD slot, no CF.  Proprietary slot for camera & cellphone add-ons.  TI OMAP5910 (ARM 925T + DSP) processor.  Appears to use proprietary embedded Linux.  The article indicates that they're targeting the Canadian market.

Site Suggestions, Requests, and Updates / Q for board admins
« on: June 25, 2004, 04:41:47 pm »
Is there a way for users to configure which forums appear on their main forum page?  For example (no offense to anyone), I seldom read the OZ or Cxx forums, since I don't use those products -- it would reduce the amount of scrolling needed to see the forums that I am interested in if I could somehow remove the others from the page.

Attn U.S. lawmakers: please, oh please, don\'t permit drivers to use this while driving -- we\'ve got enough trouble with idiots trying to use something as simple as a cell phone while piloting a vehicle!
